Sadly, I have to agree with you. It seems like these days, if the book isn't connected somehow to the Avengers, X-Men or Spider-Man, no one cares.

That could be interesting. Personally, I liked Carol Danver's Ms. Marvel identity better than having her be Captain Marvel, but this is at least better than Moonstone as Ms. Marvel (I actually like Moonstone in the T-Bolts, but I thoght Dark Avengers sucked). I'll definately give this a chance, although I doubt it will make enough money to last long.

So being a shape shifter...is that going to make her a mutant? If I understand that write up she's just going to adopt the name and not likely have any ties to the Kree.
I tend to not like these type of "mantle passings", done for the sake of doing it. Feels forced. I like it when there are at least ties, however loose.
Her being a muslim teenager isn't the issue for me.
Marvel is just re-teenaging a lot of their line.

The article I read on IGN said that her origin ties into Inhumanity, she's even (blacked out) on the cover of Inhumanity #1. The series is being written by G. Willow Wilson, a Muslim woman, so hopefully it shouldn't be to exploitive.

The cover was actually the Point One issue, not her book. I find this to be extremely interesting. I will probably check this out and give it a chance.

The SRA ,may have been abolished, but S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers should give the noobs a stern talking to about power and responsibility.
When Tony Stark erased Peter's marriage from reality, do you think first secured all the amature porn he recorded of Mary-Jane when she lived in the Tower into a special magic/science proof safebox?
(This is canon. There were cameras in the Parkers bedroom and Stark was seen (by us) learing at the footage on a big screen.)
