Mack Brown might have just saved his job. Beating the shit out of Oklahoma is a big deal in Austin. If there is one game you just have to win, it's that one.

Georgia going down to Missouri is pretty unreal.

Yeah but I could smell it coming for some reason. Murray is having a good year but the injuries to Georgia are going to give him an uphill climb the rest of the season. It is unfortunate because this is the year where things seemed to be finally coming together for them.

Okay, Duke knocking off Virginia Tech was a big enough stunner, but then I noticed that they're 6-2. Duke? Duke FOOTBALL?!? Not only that, but they actually have some votes in the AP and Coaches' polls!

(Okay, admittedly they're in the same place they were this time last year, and most of their wins are over "lesser" teams, but still....)

Hurts Alabama. They needed VaTech to be a good team.

Logan Thomas has destroyed what little draft stock he had left after that game. He just has zero touch. I think scouts just want him to be good so badly because of his size and arm strength but he just can't put it together.

Doesn't hurt 'em that much. As long as they continue winning, I don't see how they don't finish the regular season at #1.

I'm comparing this to last season. In the event that there are not two undefeated teams (as happened, IMPROBABLY, last year), the teams with the best loss and best wins get advanced. Last year, that was Alabama with A&M. Having the best wins jumps you up, like having Michigan, LSU, and Georgia.

Of course, finishing the season undefeated is a stopgap against putting your destiny in other team's hands.

    Did I reads this right?

Michigan State held Michigan to -48 yards rushing?

Nice win for my Trojans on Friday night, even if OSU was overrated to begin with. I've read a couple of reports that Lovie Smith is in the running for the head coaching job...

Yeah.. that rather shocked me. not that I think MSU wasn't up to the task of showing down the Wolverienie ground game - MSU's Defense is pretty solid all around. However, it's unconscionable to me that a Michigan running game could get hammered like that. It's offense overall has been so hit-or-miss this season.

Gotta confess that game causes me some concern. #1 - that it might make OSU a little overconfident heading into that last game of the regular season. And #2 - MSU might just have the kind of defense to slow down OSU's offense. Now, to be fair i don't think they have the offense to make a difference, but still....

Missouri looks good but then let that game against SoCarolina get away from them. The biggest reason i think that they lost to Georgia was because the Bulldogs were so banged up to such critical players. That's no disrespect to Missouri, but I have to think that a health Gurley and Marshall plus those WR's would have been the difference

Yeah Georgia just couldn't get a break this year. They had huge wins over South Carolina and LSU and even overcame their injuries against Tennessee. I just knew they wouldn't be able to hold out forever and sure enough they are starting to feel the effect of losing their big weapons. I was really wanting to see how far that team could go this year.

If they had stayed completely healthy, I'm convinced they were a serious thread to unseat Alabama in the SEC. All that offensive talent and led by a talented, veteran QB? Yeah, they'd be right in the thick of it for sure

That might actually be Auburn this year...one Tiger or the other.

Kudos to the Stanford Cardinal (no s).

That loss to Utah is biting Stanford in the ass. Go out and win a big game to Oregon and they still don't move up in the Rankings. If Stanford wins out (And I think the only big losable game they have left is next week against USC), I think they're going back to the Rose Bowl. That's not too bad but man they had National Championship hopes. It looks like Alabama is going to win 3 in a row. They look unbeatable.

Tennessee set a new NCAA record for allowing the highest average yards per kick/punt return in one game. Every week, the Vols solve one problem, only to have a new one exploited. The consolation I have is that the Schedule from Hell is almost over.

My poor Hurricanes didn't do much better. Has anyone ever seen a punter accidentally down the ball by kneeling before? Jeez...

Any updates on the condition of Zack Mettenberger? What a trooper. I can't recall the last time I saw a QB so hurt that he had to crawl his way off the field.
