The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Turns out the black-uniformed Death Star officer included in the Kmart-exclusive Death Star Scanning Crew 2-pack that's beginning to hit stores as we speak is not Lt. Childsen from the Death Star's detention block:

But instead it's Officer Pol Treidum ("TK-421, why aren't you at your post? TK-421, do you copy?"), another Imperial who's never before been released in plastic form.

Catching Fire Katniss and Effie Barbies and Peeta Ken! I can't wait. They won't be out until after Christmas, though. :(

I love, love, love Effie. She almost looks normal in this outfit.

Cool. My mom loved Barbies. I still kinda regret not getting the Star Trek Barbie and Ken in classic TOS uniforms so she could have looked at and enjoyed them.

I spent tonight putting together a fall fun set for my Avengers action figures. So far, it's cute. I have some more things to add (plus evil Loki shenanigans), then I'll post pics. Got to plan a mini Halloween party for them, too.

The box reverses of the brand new Toys "R" Us-exclusive Geonosis Jedi Knight multipacks.

Sephjet Josall looks A LOT like Captain Robau. I could see some enterprising (no pun intended) Trekker and collector customizing a Josall to make a Robau action figure. This might be the closest we ever get to Captain Robau in plastic form. ;)

These are like some Hasbro execs getting their faces sculpted into action figures, aren't they? These aren't actual characters, are they?

Yep. Real Jedi characters from the Arena battle sequence. In fact, Sarrissa Jeng with the monk-like haircut is the young female Jedi who loudly screams "YAAAAAAAA" as she slices enemy droids apart with her lightsaber.

These are all from the actual film, it's just that none of them had lines except for the one Sarrissa Jeng scream. Roan Shryne is the Jedi Knight who tosses lightsabers to Anakin and Obi-Wan so they can free themselves from their Geonosian shackles and chains.

I don't know about the old N'Sync rumors from around 2001 and 2002, but these Jedi are visible in some shots of the battle sequence. Like I mentioned, Sarrissa has the "scream" moment where she chops droids apart with her lightsaber and Roan is seen tossing weapons to Anakin and Obi-Wan at the start of the battle. The four others are supposed to be running around in the background sparring with the Separatist droids and the Geonosian warriors. Apparently all six of these Jedi are characters that George and the producers put in the film and not Hasbro creations.

I wonder if Odin sent that giant raven...

Fury's all "I recognize that you chose that pumpkin, but given that it's an ugly-ass pumpkin, I've elected to ignore it".

I have the Barbie/Katniss that came out a couple of years ago. I think I'll pass on these (at least for the time being) as I just bought the 25th Anniversay Holiday Barbie doll. I got the blond one and the K-Mart exclusive, which is red haired. :) I have way too many dolls as it is. :)

Look what cult movie fans have made using their own impressive talents:

The will of Manos decrees that this is awesome!
