Spock/Kirk/McCoy is my favorite relationship. ;)

But in all seriousness as a TOS fan, romance was not the series strong point but I did enjoy these one shot romances more than most

Kirk/Edith in the City on the Edge of Forever
Spock/Leila in This Side of Paradise
Spock/The Romulan Commander in The Enterprise Incident

I also do like Sarek/Amanda quite a bit

And most of these romances were written by DC Fontana...

Trip & T'Pol. For all ENT's strengths and weaknesses, I really think their relationship was beautifully written and acted.

Kira and Odo deserve mention and so do Sarek and Amanda.

As for nuSpock/nuUhura, I'm one more that just can't stand that pairing.

I vote for Trip/T'Pol. I love hoe Trip got all tore up inside when T'Pol had to marry that Vulcan putz to help redeem her Mom.
It wasn't that Riker got too old and fat to chase women anymore. Once Troi had to start wearing uniforms. She got hot. And the magic pixie dust from Insurrection didn't hurt.

I like to point my finger at NuSpock when watching him hugging Uhura and say "HAHA Mr. Scott is gonna nail her when he's old and fat!!"

Seriously, it's like Kirk and Spock's destiny friendship. It's inevitable in any timeline.

Honorable mention to Worf and Jadzia, while not my personal fav, there was a slow build up of two already established characters from attraction, to affair, to romantic relationship, to marriage.

It didn't come out of no where.

And put me in with those who can't see nuSpock and nuUhura ... I mean huh?

My favourite by far was Paris/Torres as it was the only one in the franchise that felt like a real relationship. It took quite a while, they had their fall-outs and they made it work. I love B'elanna as a character and I really enjoyed watching their romance grow [even if the writers did forget about it for a while]. And it has THE most romantic episode in Trek, B'elanna's 'worst day of her life' which I loved 'cause im a big softie at heart. ;)

    Others:

Riker/Troi: Meh. This is THE Ross/Rachel relationship of Trek. Almost exactly like Friends. Dragged out way too long for no reason. We all knew they would end up together as we watched 'Encounter at Farpoint' and the ball was really dropped when the writers could not make up their damn minds.

Worf/Jadzia: Great relationship and almost my favourite if it was not for the way it ended. They were cute together and It definitely worked.

T'pol/Trip: This could have been the best if they had more seasons and if they would have committed to these characters being together. i think they would have made a nice couple and it would have been fascinating to see their relationship grow and overcome hurdles like T'pol finding out she was half Romulan etc.

Picard/Beverley: Should have happened and could have been VERY interesting to see the 'controversy' within Starfleet as they got together. I'd love to have seen them overcome their guilt and get together.

Sisko/Cassidy: This worked and was typically realistic. I think because of the simplicity of their relationship [and end of DS9] it was not my favourite.

    Odo/Kira: Was fun, romantic...but awkaward.

    I really do not know . . .
I didn't care for the Spock/Leila romance . . . it didn't seem quite right and I can't put my finger on it at the moment. Perhaps the chemistry was just off - something.
On the other hand, Spock and the Romulan Commander from The Enterprise Incident was excellent - believable and well done.

Spock and Zarabeth (noted by Mr. C above) was also excellent; and of course led to the Treklit romance of Zar and the Lady Wynn, which was totally hot!

Yeah, even though that was more of a flirtation than a romance, and was just a one-off thing, they made a nice couple, which I would've liked to have seen more of. Much more convincing than, say, McCoy and the High Priestess in "For the World is Hollow . . . ."

TOS's one-shot romances are a mixed bag. Some work: Edith Keeler, Zarabeth, Miramanee, the Romulan Commander, etc. But some feel forced and unconvincing: the robot chick in "Requiem for Methuselah," Shahna in "Gamesters," Spock and the patrician daughter in "The Cloud Minders," both of Scotty's romances . . . .

I used to find Leila Kalomi kinda boring, but she's growing on me. It's not the best romance in TOS, but they do sell the poignancy of it.

Wow where did 3 pages of posts come from overnight?!

Did anyone else think The Arsenal of Freedom was a missed Picard/Beverly opportunity? I mean, great episode, still love it, but that could have been amazing.

Far and away my favorite Star Trek Couple is Picard and Vash. I've always seen the Picard/Vash relationship as an homage to the great romantic film pairings of the 40's. Vash is Bacall to Picard's Bogart. The very compelling 'battle of wills' dynamic to the Picard/Vash relationship is reminiscent of Bogart and Bacall in the classic movie "To Have and Have Not." The Vash character is an explorer with an expertise in archaeology, an adventurer, a female Indiana Jones. In the episodes where she appears, this beautiful brunette, with her beguiling smile and blue eyes, manages to charm not only the good captain of the Enterprise but the omnipotent Q as well. Vash's brazenness complements Picard's more sedate personality perfectly. She is the ideal foil for Picard's straight man. The characterizations and relationship dynamics between Picard and Vash makes this pairing a pure joy to watch.

    Warmest Wishes,
    Whoa Nellie

For me I'd have to say Odo/Kira. I loved watching that one unfold
Trip/TPol worked for me as well.
Worf/K'Ehylr is one I forgot about until this thread , I liked there time together.

Honorable mention goes to Garak/Ziyal, I liked there scenes together and felt the tragic ending was well done. I know it could never had worked due to their age differences ; but it was interesting to watch ( Maybe because I'm such a Garak fan )

I only read a few of the DS9 novels but I liked the Quark/Ro relationship as it was written.,

Hard to pick one, but if i had to I would probably pick Worf and K'Ehleyr(Yes, I had to turn to imdb to get the spelling right). I`m not quite sure why though. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that the Jadzia/worf relationship tried to simulate what they had. Worf being Worf and both Jadzia and K'Ehleyr having many of the same attributes.

Edit: after reading some of the other comments here I see I`m not alone in the Worf/K'Ehleyr suggestion.

I dunno, Vash and Picard never seemed a good fit to me. She's too loose and wild for the calm and refined Picard. It did show as well as much as they argued in the two episodes they were together in.

Vash was an interesting character and a nice change of pace from the "do no wrong" Roddenberry humans, it's just too bad she only appeared in bad episodes.
