We knew this day was coming since I believe it was rumoured that Geoff Johns was going to leave earlier than he did, unless that was something Rich actually got wrong. Jeff Parker has been hit or miss with me. I will continue with the title for a bit...but will probably end up dropping it. Johns work with the character was one of the reasons why I was reading the book.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
    Jeff Parker want's the Flash.

I have no idea if he's voiced this desire.

But the Flash means that he can write about Gorilla City.

Aquaman means that Atlantis can tenuously go to war with Gorilla City.

I know that his is the evil that lurks in the heart of this particular man.

Jeff Parker is great. He's one of those guys along with Dan Slott and Fred Van Lente who were having fun in comics back in the days when fun was a bad word, so I have high hopes for Aquaman.

It's funny, I have the opposite reaction. I'm worried I won't want to read the Flash anymore. It is probably my favourite of the New 52 titles.

Oh hell. Weekly comics are the last thing I need right now.

DC has had enough trouble getting the once a month Superman books into decent shape, now they want to add a weekly book?

No interest in a weekly Superman book, Batman on the other hand would get a look but only if they cancel one of the other titles.

I'm assuming the "weekly" Superman book would just be a name change for the two separate titles bunched together...

I remember when Action Comics went weekly back in the 80s. I stopped collecting it pretty soon after that and only went back to it when it was returned to being a monthly book.

Did the Earth 2 Desaad issue take place on Earth 1?

Maybe I wasn't paying attention but I thought the Michael Holt Mr Terrific was from Earth 1 and then transplanted to Earth 2. This issue had Desaad go after Holt's company which, if I was right, would also be in Earth 1. So was Desaad stranded on Earth 1 after Darksied's attack on that planet or was he stranded on Earth 2 after his attack on that planet?

Also, are there two different Darkseids or just one that attacked two different versions of Earth?

He tried to take over the company in Worlds' Finest. IIRC he disguised himself as Michael Holt till Power Girl found him out. Desaad is stuck on Earth 1 and Steppenwolf is stuck on Earth 2. There is only one Darkseid.

I'm actually reading Action Comics Weekly for the first time now (I'm about twelve issues in, I think). It's an interesting experiment, but some writers (Mike Grell) are better at pacing their stories into eight-page chunks than others (Sharon Wright).

I did absolutely love Wednesday Comics, though.

Did not like the Zod issue very much. Found Mongul, and Killer Frost to be good and Harley was just meh.

Just read the JLA "Dial H/Dial E/Dial Q" issue. It might just be the single worst comic book issue of all time.

I'm sick to death of this Month of Villains thing. Every single one of these things feels like unnecessary fill-in story. It's like the entire DC continuity is taking a month off. No storyline has been advanced in all this time!

Yeah. My car was broken down this last week, so I didn't make my weekly trip to the comic shop. Despite that, I feel like I missed nothing. Heck, I don't even feel like going tomorrow. There have been a couple decent stories, but nothing that really impacts anything. You could really skip a whole month of comics here (minus Forever Evil, which was pretty good) and miss nothing. I'm eager for our regularly scheduled programming to return next week.

Most of them have been relatively disappointing. I did enjoy Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins. Lex Luthor was okay but it really details his departure from prison and leads straight into what we saw in Forever Evil #1. Villains Month was essentially meant to be Gimmick month and tease upcoming stories or use it for backstory whatever the case is in various books. I'm not sure what anyone else was expecting of it, but they've pretty much been what there were supposed to be.

I hate the fact that this huge massive event happened... the Justice Leagues disappeared and the Secret Society took over the world.... and we have to sit through an entire month of standalone backstory issues before we can find out what happened! I'm dying to see what happens next and I have to wait and wait and wait...
