The least disliked episode of DS9 - Season Two

Strong episodes left, but I'm knocking off The Homecoming. Since The Circle is gone, the best of the three-parter should remain standing, and the best is The Siege. I love that season 2 started off this way.

The Siege
Necessary Evil
The Maquis (I)
The Maquis (II)
The Wire
Tribunal
The Jem'Hadar

Wow. This is tough.

I'm taking out "The Jem'Hadar". A recent viewing tells me it's an average episode that is only really redeemed by a shocking ending.

I'm gonna knock off the Siege. It was a pretty good three parter, which was a first in Trek, but overall the plot was just silly Bajorans can't figure out the Federation are the good guys.

Necessary Evil
The Maquis (I)
The Maquis (II)
The Wire
Tribunal
The Jem'Hadar

Only good episodes left at this point.

I guess I'll take out The Maquis (II). I love the idea of the Maquis but something about the way they were written leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's like they always have a speech queued up.

Necessary Evil
The Maquis (I)
The Wire
Tribunal

Does Roboturner's elimination of The Jem'Hadar count since he didn't post the full list?

Interesting viewpoint on Jem'Hadar. Yeah, most of it is pretty ho-hum. Quark and Nog tag along on a mini-vacation with Sisko and his son, and bad stuff happens? Not a promising start, but the Odyssey eating it turned the episode on its head.

OK, I knock off Tribunal. Compared to the other three, an episode about the Cardassian "justice" system doesn't compare to the rest. Plus is has lots of Keiko. I hope Necessary Evil wins, that one was great.

Necessary Evil
The Maquis (I)
The Wire

I'll remove the first Maquis ep. Now that I think about it, Jirin's right. The Maquis are pretty speechy and preachy.

Necessary Evil
The Wire

I will boot Neccessary Evil because it was interesting at first but trailed off. Also I really like The Wire

The Wire wins!!

The winner is The Wire. Garak comin yo. When it comes down to I'll always take a great Garak episode over a great Odo episode, and while great they both are, I like The Wire more. Necessary Evil gives us essential information about the history of Odo, Kira, Dukat and the occupation, but the history of Garak is something we hadn't gotten at all up to this point, and it's something we rarely get again.

Edit: Guess I spent too long typing that up. Oh well, the result was the same. The winner is The Wire!
