Make the character a special ops badass and he could still win against the Klingons, just with something a bit more creative then "beat them as the storm in." The big fight against Spock probably wouldn't happen, or at least be as intense since Kirk wouldn't have been killed and therefore Spock shouldn't be as pissed.

And then the argument currently playing out would include such gems as: "You know, Lindelof, Orci & Kurtzman are cowardly idiots because they missed the perfect opportunity to make this character... Khan Noonien Singh!"

Well crap.....

As with the cinematic release, some countries are appereantly getting shafted quite nicely. The release for STID for the Netherlands is a month later then the US release.

Just for fun, I emailed Universal Netherlands, since I'm directed to their website if I select The Netherlands as my country on Paramount.com

Anyway, liked I said, I mailed for shits and giggles, telling them how disappointed I was that there's a month delay between release in the US and the Netherlands, and that it really is a bad marketing strategy, since people would probably download it from the internet. FYI, I wouldn't since I really want to own this one BluRay. That it would be in their best interest to release it on the same day as the US.

Now, ofcourse that's not going to make any difference whatsoever. I am, however, very curious as to what their reply will be.

I mailed Universal Netherlands this week, complaining about the month delay between release in the US and release in the Netherlands, never thinking I'd get a reply. Which I didn't.

However, Bol.com is now showing a release-date of 09-11, a day after the US, and this three days after my mail.
I have no illusions what so ever that that is because of my mail, but I am damned happy though.

Does anyone know if the aspect ratio of the STID Blu-Ray will "open up" to 16:9 for the IMAX filmed sequences, like 'The Dark Knight'?
