There is not a single flavor of soda available for sale in my city that I have not tried. The same for potato chips.

It's exactly the same as sarsparilla.
Someone will now explain to me that it isn't, and why, but having drunk both I think it's a pepsi vs coke deal.
Well I thought I replied (it's the thought that counts right? I think the Submit and Preview buttons should be reversed.). It sounds like a plan. I'm saving up for hard to find merchandise outside of Japan but if I have a good amount I'll work up a costume and probably start/join a Otakon 2013 thread and post what I'll wear there.
To get back on topic, do you think they have conventions in the Star Trek universe? Voyagers last episode could have showed a Voyager convention where people were dressed as species Voyager came across, or would that have been too much?
About in-world conventions, this is something I'd never considered. Though the Ferengi would most certainly dominate the sales booths. They would revel in selling a 2 ounce hunk of plastic for $80.

I was going to say why would someone spend $20 on a shard of glass and/or plastic but I've probably spent more for less. Picard kept model ships in his ready room too you know. You know what's absolutely perfect for Ferengi?
Dilithium crystals. THEY'RE REAL PROPS HARRY!
And sadly I've seen them go for quadruple that at auctions. Not charity auctions either.. it's kind of weird how people will bid for all kinds of crap at cons that a simple search of their communicator will tell them is priced way over the already ridiculous prices.
The thing I like about this thread is that it teaches you about Sarsparillas and doesn't just endlessly rag on Endgame.
Endgame was a movie.
