IQ Scores.

Recently I conducted an IQ test as part of a psychological survey and my test result was an general IQ of 111 and a verbal IQ of 103, which is supposedly a bit above average, though I take the results with caution. And I find IQ testing a flawed and dated form of intelligence grading (it seems a mild form of reassurance, saying you're not dumber than a bag of rocks). And IQ results can easily be misused for dubious political purposes.

I know this because my IQ is 132.

I took an IQ test once and it scored me at 151. When I took it again, it scored me at 127. I was afraid to take it a third time.

A lot of people I know have IQs supposedly way above the norm, and most of them couldn't find their ass with both hands. Let's just say I don't have a lot of confidence in IQ tests.

On the two occasions I had to take an offical IQ test I scored 137 and 139 so my IQ must be around that mark. I am lucky that the areas I am poorer at (i.e. art and music ability and foreign languages) are not part of the IQ test.

Are you sure that was your IQ and not your blood pressure?

When I was quite young, an IQ test was administered to me. I found out in high school that I scored 154.

I'm pretty sure there's no way I would score that again.

I remember 15 years ago on the Internet it seemed like every mailing list or discussion group I was on there would be the people trying to work into the conversation that they were in Mensa. Of course for everyone else this was like having a flashing sign on your head which said "wanker".

I used to be in MENSA in my early teens. All I got for my 25 pounds a year was a magazine every three months. I decided after a couple of years it just wasn't worth it.

MENSA begged me to join them, begged me! I told them clubs weren't my thing, I'm an introvert, but they assured me their club was full of special smart introverts and there was chess and you could bring it up on the internet and people would respect you. That last bit killed it for me, just couldn't see the fun in it.
