A way Endgame could have been redeemed

^ Given that we're called misogynists if we don't think Janeway is Goddess Herself, or pedophiles if we can live with C/7, I'd say mockery is pretty par for the course among Voyager fans.

Eh... I can't say I much care for the episode either, but openly mocking someone who likes something you don't is rather petty... at best.

Oh come of your high horse. The whole straight-face delivery of that post just made it sound really funny. Then again it might have all been scathing irony.

It wasn't my intention to hurt his feelings or ridicule him and he has my apologies if I made him feel bad. However, maybe he is also able to see how his comment might be viewed in a humorous way.

Some valid points regarding his post, but they really don't excuse yours. It's good you didn't mean to ridicule him, but your could have delivered that far differently and still gotten your point across. But what do I know... being on a high horse and all?

You can't give in to extremists. "The best ever" is a mantra only a religious zombie would spew, and knock the teeth out of anyone who disagreed with them.

Anyway they got home, short of the full 70 years, would have been contrived, and has always been contrived and will always be contrived.

Take a page from Quantum Leap.

"And Voyager never made it home."

Because of who her father is, one of those *&^%es from Dirty Little Liars is going to own most of the rights to Quantum Leap some day.

Of course the last words I would have actually had from Janeway would have been "Fuck me! How the hell did we wind up in Andromeda?"

And then Paris says "I knew I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque."

The end. Roll credits.

It would have been infinitely more preferable if Voyager had stumbled onto a spatial anomaly or a strange, powerful race that somehow got them home (not without difficulty, of course), instead of using the tired time travel plot to rescue them from the Delta Quadrant.

It just seemed like a cheap fix to me.

But I like time travel and I don't like strange powerful races.

If someone had told me, there's going to be time travel at the finale of Voyager and that will get them home I would have been like, YAY!!!!

But if you told me there's going to be a strange powerful race in the finale and that will get them home I would have been like

Things aren't right or wrong, they're just preferences.

Why roll eyes at the strange powerful race that got them home? Strange powerful race got them TO the Delta Quadrant... ;)

I figured at first that the Susperia subplot would've lasted longer than one season and they'd use it more creatively than just another singular "will they get home" episode.

Yeah, I was significantly disappointed that they wrapped up the "second Caretaker" story with a tidy bow in one episode and it was never referenced again.

But lets make a change that will effect countless lives just so we can get home 16 years or so earlier. In a way they behaved with only regard to themselves, so what if we changed the course of others lives. . As Starfleet officers they are supposed to put others before themselves.

The Suspiria plot was set up in case they decided to wrap up the show. That they used it up so fast shows that even the Showrunners more or less realized the "Lost Ship" storyline was never going to go anywhere.

My daughter has not seen it, will not watch it under any circumstances. It is probably the most "fixed" episode in Voyager fan fiction, and has been "fixed" by some writers multiple times. There is even a Youtube edited fix.

OH, MY ACHING EARS!

I will never listen to The Merry Widow Waltz ever again.

But at least it implies that Seven married someone more age-appropriate.

What minute is it in? I'm not going to watch an hour of it..

And age appropriate? Is this about 7 being too emotionally stunted for grown ups?

So you'd make me watch it all over again to find the exact minute? :vulcan:

It's the part where Admiral Janeway tells Captain Janeway that Seven will die in the arms of her husband. The next scene is one of Seven and Harry, happy and smiling. Chakotay is nowhere to be seen.

But more age-appropriate. And far less likely to annoy Seven the way Chakotay would.

In that whole seven years, I can't believe that the moment Chakotay opened his mouth to tell somebody a story of his people, or utter "A-koo-chi-moy-a," the entire crew didn't yell, "Chakotay, STFU!"
