AFT NACELLE (Spoilers)

Just a question here......
I have seen entire scenes from the film posted on Youtube and screencaps such as the one above.
My question is where are they coming from?
Since the DVD has not been released and I can not find a site that has these kind of images where are they coming from?

A few of us board members are from... the FUTURE.
(kidding)

So, Ive heard that sometimes some people go to the movies with their video cameras or cellphones, and they record the movies with it. Then that person takes the recording and puts it on the internet. These people are known as the illegal pirate bootleg gang bastards.

So then, other people, who don't do that, find these recorded movies while surfing the internet. they download them to their computers and use clips and screen caps from them on message boards. These people are knows as, well.. remember that episode of Voyager when the Doctor uses that Cardassian hologram to save B'Elanna Torres' life, even tho his knowledge came from killing a bunch of Bajorans? K so pretend you are Torres, wanting to see the torpedo launch tubes or whatever. The Doctor is the board member who wants to help you. The Cardassian is the dude who uploaded the pirated bootleg to the internet, and the Bajorans are Bad Robot.

Dude, Bad Robot is the Dominion. Abrams is Weyoun, Orci is Dukat, Lindelof is Damar and Kurtzman is a Jem'Hadar.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it already.

Could the line have been "aft nacelles"? (Okay, I know there are no forward nacelles but it would make more sense if it was just a line goof.)

Also, is nacelles really plural of nacelle? (I know "nacelles" has been iused in Trek in the past, but nacelle as a plural seems like it could make gramatical sense.)

Just my thoughts.

No I'm pretty sure he says the aft nacelle, not nacelles. In Star Trek 2009 Pike says something about diverting power from port nacelles to forward shields. That one bugs me too, but not as bad as AFT NACELLE :)

I should have been clearer. I know cumberbatch says "nacelle", just speculated as to the original intention of the line.

I thought he was talking about realigning Shield power to strengthen the forward shields and take away power from the shields covering the port nacelle.

I heard "aft nacelle," too, but didn't give it a lot of thought.

UNTIL NOW.

I suppose if it's a mistake it could make it to final cut.

Putting my nerd hat on for a second, left, right, or aft, who the hell locates life support for the entire ship near an engine nacelle, anyway? After all, engines are common targets. Someone may shoot at the engines simply to disable the ship, hit life support, and bingo, they've killed the crew.

I would also think life support is a redundant system with backups all over the ship in case parts become damaged or destroyed. We don't know if this Enterprise's saucer separates, either. But if it does, then the primary and secondary hulls would need completely independent life support systems, too, each with their own redundant systems.

It would also really suck if the Saucer used round air filters and the secondary hull used square ones..lol :p

 Good Lord, people. I think it's pretty obvious what happened. The writers needed a technobabble word, so they plugged "nacelle" in there. If they'd used "deflector", "power coupling" or "plasma conduit" we probably wouldn't be having this discussion.

Oh, who am I kidding? Of course we would.

Bingo! :techman:

I thought he was talking about realigning Shield power to strengthen the forward shields and take away power from the shields covering the port nacelle.

I just re-checked the scene. The first time the Enterprise see's Nero. Nero fires on the Enterprise, and Pike says "Divert auxiliary power from port nacelles to forward shields."

I didn't want to talk about this but...
Why does the nacelle have "auxiliary power that can be transferred to the shields? and more importantly:
PORT NACELLES?!?

Maybe they do just write this shit to piss us off?

If this pisses you off, then, yes, I hope they do this on purpose.

Yeah I noticed that too. I wouldn't worry about it.
