IMO, Jim Carrey peaked in about 1985.

Jim Carrey was pretty good in the Ace Ventura movies...

but, bringing this back on topic, I wouldn't want to see him in Trek, simply because I don't know if he can play a serious role to save his life. (At least Bruce Campbell did that episode of Homicide: Life on the Street, so we know *he* can play it straight.)

The Truman Show and Man on the Moon don't count? Aside from wining a Golden Glob for each, most people thought he deserved an Oscar nod for the later.

His performances in Eternal Sunshine..., The Majestic, and The Number 23 were all pretty good too.

And I would consider them all to be "serious."

...And certainly more palatable than his comedic routine.

^ Actually that just might work, now that I think about it...Harry is a comic character, after all.

How about Robin Williams as Harry?

Well one international draw might be Tom Hanks, the supposed Trekkie.

I doubt we'd get the Eternal Sunshine Carrey.

Goodbye, Jean-Luc, I'm gonna miss you. You had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson should definitley do Star Trek again, he would be a good Klingon!

I am being serious, Star Trek helped to start his acting career and hes done very well for himself since. GI:Joe and Fast & Furious have certainly benefited from his presence, and he is recognisable worldwide!

Mila Kunis is a big Trekkie and would certainly be in the next movie. If she is free!

Tom Hanks is still a big star and would make a good Starfleet admiral (Pike Replacement)!

The Rock is actually not that bad of an actor. I mean, what is professional wrestling if not acting? And I agree he would make a great Klingon. :klingon:

You're kidding, right ? Did you ever watch the WWE back in his heyday ? The man played the crowd like an instrument. Even when he was a heel, he'd get them to chant his name, and even as a face, he'd manage to get boos on demand. Man's a natural with a microphone.

Dwayne Johnson has the screen presence of a...

    Oh who am I kidding?

Yeah. Given the choice, I'd take Carrey.
