Any old timers still around?

I'm surprised a guy like Mike Okuda doesn't hangout at a Trek board.

I'm pretty sure he's posted in the Fan Art section before.

Rick Sternbach and Andrew Probert are occasional posters in Fan Art as well.

Yep.

Rick

Wow, I had no idea that you post here. I am admittedly not the sort of fan that knows a ton of names, but I've known yours and admired your work for a very long time. Nice to see you here. :)

I first joined back when Voyager was in its 6th season. This must have been 1999? I don't remember under which name I posted back then, I had many. I don't post much these days, but I still visit and read.

Anyone remember a user (or mod) who worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration? His user name was DEAsomething.

DEAverification - eventually just DEA, because no one wanted to type that long name over and over. ;)

I sometimes go traversing through friends lists, looking for people who I've not seen post in a long while. A little nostalgia perhaps. I lurked for a long while before joining, so a lot of older names spark some memories.

Anybody here remember Rat Boy? He ran the TOS caption contests for a good long while. Anyway, he backed off from doing those and then one day simply stopped. I think the day he chose was on purpose, as it was Sept 11, 2011.

I remember Rat Boy very well. He and I had some fun exchanges over the years.

I'm going to use the "half your age plus seven" rule and adapt it to TrekBBS. Half the time the board's been around plus seven months.

April 1999 is when the board opened... 14 years, 2 months... half-way is May 2006... plus seven months...

If you registered for the first time on December 2006 or earlier, that makes you an Old Timer. ;)

^I'm nost sure I like that idea. :p But then again I would say that as I've been on the boards over 12 years.

 That would make me an Old timer? Nope. I'd consider those who were around when Voyager was still on as old timers :)

The way I see it, if you joined the board when Bill Clinton was still President or at the very least before 9/11 then you're older than dirt. We probably made our first posts using a Tandy computer powered by a hamster in a wheel.

Close.

I joined in November of 2001, using AOL Dial-Up...

March or April of 2000 (actual date lost in one of the many server crashes). I remember when my group was considered n00bs and we were less than a year newer than those who were on board at the beginning of the place.
