Most logical explanation is after watching the episode that shall not be named, S/U Fan is so depressed she cannot bring herself to discuss it. :vulcan:

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Mr. j and I just watched this last night, and it turned out to be the first time, as we had, if I'm recalling correctly, taped it back in the day, but the tape was bad.

I had seen some stills but not the ep and had stayed away. So, it was, kinda, sorta, new Trek for us.

And we were both left wondering the same thing - why the f were they there when they had a time-sensitive mission?!?!?!

I would have loved one line - just one! A little throwaway of something like, I dunno, "We need to go down there to recharge the frangistat." And then it would have made sense.

Plus, er, the humans were abducted but allowed to bring horses? Wacky. What were the Skagarans intending to enslave them for? Pulling John Deere plows? It woulda worked better if the draft animals were alien instead.

Otherwise, given the above, it seemed an awful lot like a S2 ep that was in the can that they changed slightly (there's a nominal reference to the Xindi) in order to shoehorn it into S3, perhaps as a cost-cutting measure.

Lovely to look at, but ultimately kinda perntless, although I have a plot bunny in my head about a much later return to, I suppose I'll call it Skagar Prime. I'll find a way to explain the horses. Perhaps they'll be Houyhnhnms.

Well if I were cruising around that far from earth and I came across a colony of humans I'd check it out.

Except they weren't cruising around, they were on a mission to save Earth from blowing up.

But I still love North Star :adore:

It's confirmed. TATV alienates yet another Star Trek fan. :sigh:

TATV has been omitted from my trek continuity. Terra Prime is the office finale. Fitting that the only script written by Berman and Braga in season 4 is the worst episode of the entire run.

Okay, so I did finish watching this. I'll have to finish out this thread as soon as I get what I wrote about the last episodes. Sorry this took so long. Thanks.

OMG as soon as I saw you post in ST:XI+ forum I rushed over here to see if you had posted your TATV review. The anticipation was killing us!

    Yes. I speak for everybody.

Sorry about that. I ended up taking a longer break than I expected.

Well, it certainly was an interesting way to end a series.

    Thank you. :)

Okay, so my Photobucket is having some issues right now, so no picture as of yet, but here's my comments on the next episode:

    Terra Prime
    (Imagine a pic here.)

After all of their hard work and effort to save little Elizabeth, Trip and T'Pol lose the baby. It's so sad. I guess we can assume now that Trip has transferred back as chief engineer since he's still around, answering to Archer, without a thought about or word from Hernandez. I'm glad they were able to stop Terra Prime... this time. And it's good that Travis' "friend" turned out to be one of the good people after all. Maybe they can work out those details. ;)

So was it disconcerting for you to see Robocop in STID than again in Terra Prime?

I think he worked just fine in both. Only, Terra Prime was a decent episode to me. STID is only a barely watchable action movie for the most part.
His character wasn't as good in that as it was in Enterprise, tbh.

I really enjoyed the dramatic tension in that storyline, best Travis usage.

Oh my God. I agree. Weller's character in Terra Prime had a point. I could at least understand where his xenophobia was rooted. Marcus? Not so much. Not as well developed.

    I agree.

Yeah, in STID his motivations weren't as clear and it just seemed like
he wanted a war more or less just because...
