I discovered this show a few months ago on Netflix. I always thought the ads looked good, but just never got to it on broadcast.

Holy crap...is this show offensive and awesome!

I am early in the third season. I just finished the "Dumpster Baby" episode. I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

These people are all awful, awful human beings.

    "I'm an abortion survivor, DAD!"

    :guffaw:

Any other fans here? I just love finding something "new", with so much to watch. I look forward to my business trips where I can watch on my laptop and wallow in the filth.

Last year they cut down the number of episodes, but yeah. It's hilarious. I'm concerned that Charlie Day will become huge and quit the show.

Probably my favorite tv comedy of all time. I can't really believe how unnoticed it goes. It has slipped under the radar for years. I can't tell you how many times someone has said "What's it about?" & I have to think of a dumbed down way to describe it.

My answer? "Imagine Seinfeld, but instead of wacky goofballs wrapped up in madcap antics, the cast is psychotic narcissists, lacking any shred of decency, who are routinely engaged in the most heinous & offensive plots imaginable. Now imagine it's hilarious"

We should start a list of the worst things they've ever done. Tried to sell a dumpster baby & were party to the death of a crack whore top my list

Oh yeah... & the child beauty pageant. OMFG

Fantastic show... but it is getting a little long in the tooth. The last season was not great for me, it's like they went down a checklist of recurring characters and plots they needed to revisit. But it's still good for the LOL moments, which are hard to come by on TV these days.

Was just watching the Jihad ep the other day, had completely forgotten about this gem:

Yeah, it's like Seinfeld taken (down) to the next level. The Seinfeld gang were not good people, but they at least knew the social codes they were not living up to and tried to put on appearances of decency. The "Sunny" gang have absolutely no clue of how truly awful they are, nor any frame of reference for acceptable human behavior.

It's a great show, my wife caught on to it in the first season, somehow. We've been thinking of re-watching, we'll probably get to that soon. The show probably won't go on too many more years, and just as well.

The "home makeover" was pretty bad, too.

The show is great, although I never had an opportunity to watch it regularly. I started in the first season which I thought was great but had no chance of continuing (they convinced Danny DeVito to join the cast because they thought FX couldn't cancel it if it had a famous actor). Frank ended up being a great addition to the show. Sure it can be hit and miss, but it's still one of the better shows in the last decade.

I first saw this when I was in Kuwait. Some of my soldiers were watching it and I was like "WTF are you watching?" It was the episode where mac dates a Tranny so they HAD to show me the making out scene with her...you know what bulging from her jeans. And then later I saw them watching the one where they were trying to be news reporters and had Dee go into the building to save the kittens then lit it on fire.

I had all the seasons but when I moved from Ft Polk to Ft Bragg they were "lost" including the Christmas special DVD. So I had to resort to watching the edited versions on F/X when it was on.

Guess I'll have to re-purchase all the seasons cause this is a great show.

On a side note, i think it was either an episode of Criminal Minds or Law & Order were some kid killed two thugs that were trying to mug him and it was on the same "strip" as Paddy's. Since I can't remember where the episode took place I'm wondering, is that strip really in Philly or is it in L.A.? I always figured It's Always Sunny was filmed in Philly.

I'm still pretty early in the series. The first one that came to mind after Dumpster Baby was when Mac tried to get the coach to molest him.

Charlie giving the box with "H" on it to that guy that dumped the waiteress was pretty awesome as well.

Later in the series the CharDeeMacDennis game (or whatever its called) is pretty funny.

My favorite ep is the Gang Solves the Gas Crisis where they were driving around in a rape van full of drums of gasoline with Frank dressed as an OPEC prince and Charlie lights the gas on fire while their driving and leaps out the back shouting "wildcard, bitches!"

This is a very funny show. The sight of naked Danny DiVito crawling out of a sofa as part of the Christmas special is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

IIRC, the show is predominantly filmed in LA, but they'll go to Philly to do location shoots when they need to. Law and Order, of course, is filmed in New York, so there wouldn't be any LA shots or Philly shots in it.

Thanks. It had to be Criminal Minds then and since I'm doing a rewatch of CM I'm sure I'll see it. I'm half way through season 4 at the moment.

Unless it was the short lived L&O LA series.

"The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis" is THE funniest half hour of anything I've ever watched. From Charlie's Foghorn Leghorn Texas oil man "I said, now I said I'm not leavin' here till I fill you UP!" to Frank's rape van with the double blacked out windows to the finale with Charlie "The Wild Card" cutting the rape van's brake lines while Ray Parker, Jr.'s "Ghostbusters" plays, it's just a hilarious television show.

"The Nightman Cometh," "Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare," and "Hundred Dollar Baby" are all tied for second place.

    "WHERE'S MY GODDAMN HAIRPIN? RRAAARRRGHHHHH!"

Many hilarious moments, but I think the hardest I laughed in the whole series was Charlie's wedgie in the class reunion episode.
