Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

^@ Admiral Young Unless they were doing what Superman The Movie did and setting up the villain for the second film in the first one; i.e. Brainiac would be to this movie what General Zod was to Superman: TM. But I think that's an extremely long shot.

It's probably just Zod's failed attempted coup...although it could also be a flashback to Brainiac's assault on Earth and Zod's attempt at repelling it. I was kind of hoping too that they would include this from New Krypton as a way to show him the hero he once was before his fall from grace(it's shown in the "Superman Unbound" DTV) , but since technically that was "Donner Zod" probably won't be the case. I do still think we will see Brainiac in the sequel, but I'd be surprised if he was mentioned or shown in this film.

About a month ago there were some spoilers by some guy who had allegedly been to a WB advanced screening. I don't have a link now but from what I remember

He said they state in the movie that Luthor is working on a new AI that will revolutionize technology and is unlike anything Metropolis has ever seen.

Brainiac though has also never been used in a live action film before (despite previous attempts) so it would make sense to use him in the sequel. Fans have been clamoring for him for ages it seems as well. I guess we'll have to wait and see, and under a month to go too! Also @Demotion...I've been saying for a long time now that this film seems to be structured similarly to "Batman Begins" and we all know who was teased at the end of that film

^Oh yeah, it makes sense to use him in a sequel. I just don't think they'd want to echo S:TM by placing the villain for the second movie (here, Brainiac, there Zod) in the opening sequences of the first one. But I could be wrong.

I don't really like it, but it's just a poster. I like the idea of them painting it, it's just not that good.

It's most likely for merchandising, since we've seen the same painted style for Avengers, TDKR, and every other recent superhero movie.

Still though, as far as paintings go I think it's probably one of the coolest ones I've seen.

^ I agree. The Comic book artist Jock has done a really great Zod poster.

As for the next official poster...probably will come out soon I should imagine. I think the last poster came out shortly after the second trailer.

Some pretty cool ones in there, and I think the MOS suit actually translates pretty well to the comics.
