As to chocolate, the dark stuff can be good but it gives me a heart palpitations if I eat too much. I used to drink black cocoa with no milk or sugar a lot (you dark choc people should try this, it is awesome). Unsweetened cocoa powder and hot water. But that also gave me heart palpitations. I like Lindt chillie chocolate quite a bit but that's because of the chillie

I have odd allergies. I am allergic to green peppers, pepper SEEDS and sausage [not just pork sausage... turkey, beef, etc. too. We still haven't discovered which ingredients cause it.]. Green peppers cause heart palpitations, as well as, regular allergic reactions. I only found out a year before Dad died that he had the same allergy.

^Wow. I've never had heart palpitations from food, and I didn't know until very recently (like, 3 weeks ago) that they could be an allergic reaction. I learned as much only because my heart palpitations were what ultimately lead to the discovery that I was allergic to my insulin.

I've never eaten a baby carrot. I think I've only seen them here a few times. My favorite sweets are anything with coconut milk.

My sister is also of the wtf is the big deal here response to chocolate.

Well, a baby carrot is an adult carrot, which is probably why it tastes like one. Baby carrots are unsellable carrots that have had all the weird, damaged, or rotten bits whittled off to make them pretty again. I think it's a great, personally, as before all the wonky carrots were just chucked. Plus, they're delicious.

I just finished a snack of baby carrots prior to signing in here.

The heart palpitations were a bit scary, especially since it took a long time to discover their actual cause. I had been to a heart specialist, among others, before we finally figured it out. If my stepmom hadn't been using red peppers to make her Stuffed Peppers, I'd have never known about Dad's same allergy.

p.s.- Stepmom makes her Stuffed Red Peppers using ground turkey, although I am sure there are veggie substitutes. I prefer brown rice, tomato sauce more than spicy, and mushrooms make a nice addition. The red peppers give it a sweeter taste than the green ones, IMO, making it a win-win dish.

Well I haven't gone veggie but I've been doing this juice diet and eating one solid meal a day and I've lost 30 pounds in the last month.My one solid meal is usually a good salad with lite or low cal dressing, I'm feeling better than ever before and it's a good thing.

Well I haven't gone veggie but I've been doing this juice diet and eating one solid meal a day and I've lost 30 pounds in the last month.My one solid meal is usually a good salad with lite or low cal dressing, I'm feeling better than ever before and it's a good thing.

Congratulations! I've thought about trying a juice diet to lose weight, but I have health issues which prevent it. Although, currently I'm limited to broth, soup, etc. due to complications from surgery. Since I'm bedridden for now, I don't think I'm losing any weight on it.

I did have some red pepper hummus which is quite tasty... and the most solid thing I've had recently.

I had concerns but after talking to my doctor and physical therapy team I decided to give it a go. I like what is happening but will most likely eat regular foods for a week or two so that I don't drop it too quick. I've had some juices that were just vile and others that are great. I must admit that I'm just a little psyched over this, now it's time to throw in exercise. It's too bad I've just recently torn my rotator cuff in my left shoulder as I was also lifting weights. Oh well, I'll just have to figure something else out.

Orange and strawberry, tomato and celery, sweet potato, cucumber and celery, carrots, apple and pear, apple and grapes, pineapple, mango's, kale and tomato. I will say the mango was very messy and the cucumber repeated on me but they were all pretty good. Carrots, and sweet potato were a tasty surprise, quite sweet and addicting.

^Oh man, that sound amazing!

My mother is really big into canning and makes some really incredible jams. Some of my favorites she has done recently were a raspberry oregano jam, tomatillo jam, a spicy peach salsa, an incredible sangria jelly (that really tasted of wine, very sweet though, so one could only have a tiny bit), and my favorite, a strawberry lavender jam.

I really love making jam but don't do it too often now because the price of fruit here is through the roof. I don't even like eating jam, just making it I do like marmalade though and oranges are pretty cheap so I usually make some of that.

I bet the sangria jelly would be great on crackers with brie.
