Yep. I've made Lt. Commander, I believe, with my Klink, and it just doesn't really interest me. Now the Romulans? Yes. They interest me a great deal.

    Hiya Peeps,

    Have a big dilemma,

Currently i am in a fleet that I helped to grow and build up and feel bit overwhelmed with the task, would prefer lesser role but as everyone in the fleet sees me a a true leader i feel too much stress when things go wrong.

So my options are to leave the fleet which i helped to build or try to stick for while longer and help finish tier 5, and move on to another fleet or play a solo for a while.

My toon is set and really not sure I need anything on this main toon. http://oi45.tinypic.com/120qs5c.jpg (taken 3 weeks ago),

Fleet helps in getting dill (farming) and with missions, i.e if i don;t know about something i ask and there'll be someone who knows the answer and is there to land a hand. Problem is i have less time for me and fleet takes more of my time, and makes my game enjoyment less and less of a fun and more of a stress i need to deal with, the leader of the fleet doesn't help one bit with his constant barrage of stupid ideas and nonsensical interludes which make me sometimes go nuts.

Thinking what to do, do I join a tier 5 fleet and try to get some gear if so what good fleets you know of that is worth taking a look at?> or go solo and try to enjoy the game more and have fun, after all its why i joined the game in a first place, to have fun.

    Suggestions plz,

    And any

PS, our fleet is tier 4 level 16 fleet with tier 5 military shipyards and Tier 4 Eng but heading for tier 5.
I'm thinking of sticking with them till tier 4 eng is done and than get my hands on elite weapons and than leave, could take 2-3 weeks tops.

any yes my contribution to this fleet are enormous by any standard you take, my total is 3 million FC on the main toon & 550 000FC on the 2nd toon.

Got 20 000FM, 1.1 million FC as we speak and about 1.5 million refined dill between 2 toons, and 12000 Zen.

Any suggestions for a fleet plz let me know.

Access Denied looks good, and was it Jupiter Force, but are there any other decent fleets i can join that won't be overbearing and let me just play my game and not burden me with nonsense. And no i don't want any leadership roles again, too much stress and nonsense, rather play low profile game from now on.

    4.8k dps,

I woldn't pay too much notice on what dps you get, its what actual damage you do to the enemy is what counts.

Done so many stf;s by now that I am cringing my teeth and hope we make it through when vesta, sovie, and other large ship shows up on our team, i am like, hope he is really good or we're busted.

Give me small tactical escort any day, I'll actually record few stf missions to show you what i am on about. Expecially when we're doing ISE, large be it Klingon, Fed, Domi, ships take like 50-70% more time to do same task someone with small defiant or a bug, really annoying when yo're pressed for time.

Also programs that do dps count are all rubbish, we tested few and all of them gave different results for the same mission, in one I cam 2nd and another i came 3rd and in one i came last, and we did KASE, btw I took left gates on my own before 3 players took right gates (20 seconds) and I still came 2nd and 3rd on dps count, not sure how you explain that, but I find it odd that little moi can do a job of 3 players, ok 2 and half, one player was doing it part time he was taking down probes and hitting gates. :guffaw:

Mic, why would you not just stay in your fleet and hand the leadership role off to someone else? Seems like the simplest solution. You get to keep your associations, enjoy the base you helped up build, and then have no pressure on top.

Unrelated, Cryptic posted the shot below of the graphically updated D'Deridex. I've had a Pavlovian response to it:

As much as I love the fact we're getting a new faction--especially sense it's Romulans *squee*...oh shut up. I wonder why we can't get "non-aligned" characters; freighter jocks and the short that don't actually have a faction.

cause players will still come to me with questions and bug me in the middle of my missions, also leader of the fleet might think i am trying to leave or something else.

I'd rather start afresh and not be bugged by old problems, do my missions and stuff i like doing but not being pressured in to doing fleet events and do something for the fleet, I really hate when leader of my fleet asks for ppl to donate yet he fails to do the same....

Also other stuff i don't want to press in the public, but suffice to say I'd rather start in a fleet with less stress on my shoulders.

Well, I don't have any fleet suggestions for you. I'm in both the TrekBBS fleets, and neither is close Tier 5, which seems to be a requirement for you. Though I will say that the board fleets are as low-pressure as they come.

Looks like I guessed right, for all intents and purposes the Romulans will be a subfaction. I'm fine with this personally as it'll save a good deal of EC and grinding.

I am too, actually. The thought of starting another star base from scratch is a little nauseating. I imagine they'll incorporate any Romulan fleet gear into the allies' base progression.

I could imagine there being an exclusive fleet vendor for the Romulans at the embassys instead of the bases.

Still, for a sub-faction, level 1-40 exclusive mission content isn't too shabby. It's more than the KDF got at launch anyway! :p

Oh, and speaking of the KDF: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=8902011#post8902011

Your assertion that dps parsers are rubbish is totally unfounded, and the reason is really simple. Your mistake is using KASE for dps parses.

The combat log generated by you is centered around your ship. Combat events that happen far from you will not be recorded in your own combat log but may be recorded on a teammate's combat log because he is nearer to the source of the combat event. This means that for a map such as KASE where the team is forced to split up, the combat logs for players on the left will end up being very different when compared with players on the right.

It is not the dps parser's fault. Even if you each used the exact same dps parser to parse your own KASE combat log, each person will still get very different dps figures.

This is why we usually only use ISE for dps figures and never use KASE or CSE.

I just want to say it is the player, not the ship. Take me for instance. I have 5 fed characters, each commanding a different ship including an Atrox, Armitage, Galor, Mobius and Chel Grett. Yet every single ship one of my ships easily out-damage the typical escort you find in pug STFs.

First of all my apologies to everyone else who reads this but I simply have to say something to mic of orion.

    Why should we care?

This is what you posted a few months ago after a couple of us including Timelord, Scout101 and syberghost tried giving you good advice in dealing with bad players on pug STFs rather than simply ragequitting and abandoning the remaining players.

Since then, you've gone back on your word by posting recruitment ads for your fleet and boasting in general about how your fleet is better than our TrekBBS fleet.

Now you claim you have a bunch of people in your fleet who looks up to you as the true leader. And yet, you want to leave the fleet because, in your very own words "My toon is set and really not sure I need anything".

Ragequitting an STF only affects 4 other players. Quitting on a fleet who looks up to you as the true leader affects at least a hundred other players. Not only that, from all you have said in your post it is clear what you really want to do right now is find a better fleet that has already reached tier 5 so you can get the uber items you want from their fleet store. Really? Is a bunch of virtual and thus ultimately worthless in-game items worth more than all the friends you have made in the fleet?

All I can say is you sir, are an irresponsible, antisocial, self-centered person. I am sorry for all the people in your fleet who looked up to you as a true leader and wished they know what you have posted here.

I've never tried a dps calculator, all I know is my forward cannons fire at over a thousand. Is that good? I think so. Am I wrong? I feel like I kick tones of ass when fighting.

BTW, I love my Trekk BBS fleet and am happy to wait for it to reach Tier 5. It's called solidarity.
