I wondered that, since they said that Ian Abercrombie had already recorded all of his dialogue for S5 before he died.

I think everybody knew about Anakin and Padme.

This felt oddly like a series finale to me... I really hope we don't get the "Clone Wars is on indefinite hiatus so that everyone at Lucasfilm/Disney can focus on 7,8,9 etc." I know movies are the real moneymakers where the TV series' get brushed under the rug.

We now know that the game 1313 went the route of Battlefront III... proving Lucasarts can't get their shit together on the corporate side (the games are great) to release substantial in the gaming world. :(

I thought that Ahsoka leaving the Jedi was likely the emotional climax of the series so far. I could actually feel something as she left. She was right to leave the Jedi.

It also suggested to me some rational reasons to serve behind Ahsoka's complete absence in ROTS... maybe another several months will pass before ROTS begins with Ahsoka out of sight/mind to Anakin.

How awesome will it be to have another season of Ahsoka going rouge, taking smuggling and/or bounty hunting jobs next season? Will she reconcile with Ventress? Fight Maul? Secretly have contact with Anakin/Obi-Wan?

Oh, and Dr. Frank-n-Furter as Palps was weird but not so bad on the rewatch. He's got the pitch and inflection but not the pacing... he's going too slow.

I think Ahsoka outside of the Jedi Order has a lot of potential and gives the show the unpredictability it's had difficulty obtaining. A Jedi leaving the Order is something I've wanted to see. Someone said it would be awesome if Ahsoka and Ventress joined up as Badassess for Hire. I suspect though that Ahsoka might end up Onderon with her "close friend" Lux.

I kept thinking that Anakin was going to call Ahsoka back and tell her to put on a jacket. Ahsoka still looks like she should be walking the streets in that outfit.

    She's just drumming up bounties.

Besides, I have a feeling the next time we see her she will look quite different.

Season 6 is already in production. It has its own production crew that wouldn't be involved with the movies, so there's no reason one would have to be suspended to allow the other.

Besides, tie-in cartoons help promote movies. That's why we have animated series based on Batman and the Avengers and Spider-Man and Green Lantern and the Transformers and so on. They're complements, not rivals.

^^ I certainly hope so Christopher! Hopefully we'll find out in the spring.

I thought the finale was great. Though it seems simple after the fact, I never thought about them not making Ashoka a Jedi any longer as a way-perhaps-to give a logical reason why she isn't in Episode 3 or talked about in that film without killing her off.

Similar to bill cosby I also felt like this finale could've been a series finale. I know it isn't, but if it was, I would be pleased with it.

Not so sure how I feel about Barriss Offee being the traitor. I thought that was a bit too obvious, though with only about 20 something minutes, there's only so much you can do. I was surprised by how good Offee was with a lightsaber. She was holding her own against Anakin. It was also nice seeing some of the younglings from earlier in the season.

I thought her rationale was muddled. Before fighting Anakin she says something like the color red (of Ventress's) lightsabers suits her, but then before the tribunal she talks about the Jedi being consumed by darkness.

I also thought it odd that Palpatine would be sitting in judgment of Ashoka. Not feeling the new voice actor for Palpatine either.

But overall, I thought it was a great ending for the season. It will be interesting to see if Ashoka comes back to the Order in season 6 or if they do something else with her.

Well, it is the series finale as far as Cartoon Network is concerned, isn't it? Since season 6 will probably be on Disney XD due to the merger.

She only said the sabers suited her; she didn't specify the color.

And is there really some official rule about only Sith having red lightsabers? Is there any reason why a non-evil Jedi couldn't have one? I mean, Mace Windu's is purple.

I think it's likely that the reason they did this was exactly what you say, to explain her absence from the Order in RotS. So I don't think she'll be coming back. I think next season will feature her exploring a different path. And that could be intriguing. There must be more to the universe than Jedi, Separatists, politicians, clones, droids, bounty hunters, and outlaws. We haven't seen much of the perspective of rank-and-file civilians. Maybe that could be fleshed out through Ahsoka's eyes.

There was no chance they were going to kill Ahsoka. Too many kids watch this show and she's been the main heroine too many times. Never happen. It might not be a 'Optimus Prime dies' level of 'outrage' but it'd be up there.

That said, they handled it the best way they could. Have they mentioned the Unknown Regions in the show yet? Perfect place for somebody to get 'lost' while Episode III happens. Even though she's not a Jedi it's hard to believe her staying on the sidelines while the Republic falls if she's still running around Coruscant or the core worlds.

It has something to do with the way they focus their powers through the crystal. Reds and Purples are better at focusing the Dark Side of the force, while the others the Light Side.

Most of that knowledge comes from the games and novels though, I don't think I 've ever come across an official reference to why the Sith choose red.

Yeah, it would be hard to miss a galactic Republic going up in flames. Then there is that thing that Jedi do...they sense deaths through the force...although I've only seen Yoda show that trait. Heh, they might get her Revan lost and send her to the extreme reaches of the galaxy for all we know.

I broke down and watched the finale (I catch the series during the summer time) and this has to be one of my favourite episodes of the show. This was just a magnificent episode. The animation as we've commented on, has improved so much, there were just some beautiful shots in this episode. The score was great. A little more foreshadowing and the Dark Side ever presence in it's clouding of events. I can't wait for next season now.

Great episode. While some people on here predicted it, I was surprised that Ahsoka actually did leave the order, it'll be interesting to see what they do with her now. I'm usually a huge fan of Tim Curry, and his overall performance was good, but at the same time it was a little odd watching his scenes, because he doesn't sound enough like Ian Abercrombie to make a seamless transition.
I'm very curious to see where they go with it from here, but it looks like I'll have to wait for the DVDs since I don't get Disney XD.

Great episode. It's episodes like this that make me feel I could skip the prequel Trilogy altogether and have this take it's place. Maybe i'd still need to watch episode I but the rest should be the clone wars series (minus shit droid episodes).

Good episode; I was actually surprised when she left the Order at the end because it felt like everything was going back to status quo. It is bull the way the Council went along with railroading her.

I could see Anakin quickly loosing interest in Ahsoka now that's not an official Jedi. It's like when you're best friends with someone at work, then they leave the job, and you quickly move on.

Tim Curry really stood out like a sore thumb as Palpatine.

I'm surprised to see Palpatine speaking out against Ahsoka! Is that really the way to seduce Anakin, turning on his precious Padawan?!?!

That reminds me, one thing this series dropped the ball on is showing the mentor relationship between Palpatine and Anakin. They never had time to show it properly in the movies and this should have been the chance to redeem that.

I agree the music was a standout for this episode.

Remember though that Anakin was first assigned Ahsoka in the first place so he could learn how to deal with his problems with emotional attachment. A Jedi Knight naturally sees his or her apprentice move on when they are promoted to knighthood. This situation is very different indeed. Ahsoka was kicked out of the Jedi...and wrongly so...plus Ahoska revealed to Anakin that she knows about him and Padme. This is a bond that Anakin won't fast forget. They've a bond that is just as strong as his with Obi-Wan's or his and Padme's.

Palpatine is slowly isolating those closest to Anakin. Separating him from his Padawan Learner would be an absolute priority. Besides which he never "turned" on Ahsoka. He was acting in his role as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic and his ruling was based on what they knew at the time.

Um, you have seen the original film, haven't you? "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."

But that's just it -- he wasn't. We saw him essentially making the prosecution's closing argument for them even though he was supposed to be the impartial judge.

Not to mention the rush to judgment in the first place. I know it's a common TV/movie trope to create suspense, but they put her on trial before the defense even had enough time to mount a proper investigation. Couldn't Padme have requested a continuance or a recess or something long enough to let Anakin do some digging?

Which brings up the question of, if the Padmé/Clovis arc has been pushed back to season 6, would the rest of season 6 also be four part arcs ...... Maybe five four-part arcs, then Clone Wars ends with a two part series finale.
