I would like to see a Leia movie, maybe not a romcom but showing how she came to be an important part of the rebellion.
I'm saying "romcom" because if Disney intends to flood the market with Star Wars movies, it makes sense to target them at different demographics, which means that at least one of them should be made with girls and women in mind.
I'm not sure Leia is the right character for that. I wouldn't mind seeing a romance between two young Jedi, or between a Jedi and a dark side user.

There's fanfic for that. If one wants to make money off Star Wars, using the characters that people know and love is a good starting point.
"In a world where love seems impossible...I agree, I'm just not sure that Leia really fits for the tone of a romcom. What was she in A New Hope, 20? She didn't seem like she had much time for romance...and even if she did I don't think a romance in the rebellion would be able to be a romcom. It would have to be more of a romantic drama.
Unless you set it when she's 16/17, but that depends on how long she's been a part of the rebellion.
A romantic drama makes more sense to me, and it could end with her joining the rebellion. The only other option is to set it post-Jedi which either means splitting her and Han up or killing Han off.
"George does not currently have any plans to sell his Disney stock," said LucasFilm's Lynne Hale. "This was a registration of ownership of stock in conjunction with the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney. It was a required filing."
So when would you set a Leia romcom, post-ROTJ?
Yoda IMO has the best merchandizing capabilities for Disney and as a character to add to their theme parks he's perfect for younger children.
They could do a Leia movie with a Mulan type storyline. It's Disney, how can they resist doing a princess movie?
Looks like Disney is milking Star wars dry... as I thought![]()

Milking it dry? Do you know how many hours of live action Star Trek there is compared to Star Wars? It's gonna take a lot of movies to "milk it dry".
