I don't have a degree in cinema, but it would certainly be first person since Mohinder is present in the story and he doesn't seem to know much about what's going on in other people's lives (which would make him all knowing).

But at the end of the day, his narration is rather light. He talks in poetics and then goes away, so it's kind of hard to classify. Pretty much all different types of narration could fit under the narrations he gives.

Well, my degree is in Film Production not Film Studies so dunno if I count, but I would say it's an objective narration. His voice-over monologues never refer to himself, other characters, events specific to his situation or events to those around him. Always vague, pretentious poetic musings on evolution and destiny.

Be aware though that I gave up on the show during it's inept third season so for all I know he opened the fourth season with narration like "Dear diary, today I whined about my dead father and acted like The Fly. I also had pasta for lunch."

If he doesn't know about the lives of other he would be know as party of the story, he would be a homodiegetic narrator (I think it's not my academic area). You could also think about it in terms of zero (narrator knows more than other characters), internal (The narrator knows as much as focal character) or external (the narrator knows less than other characters) focalization.

I can't really remember much about that show.

I think the technical term is an "annoying narrator".

(Thank you, thank you. I'm here all night, folks)

    i think that he's all-knowing
its just the same actor doing the voice over
    but not in mohinder's role
he always seems to know about the big picture...
