Wellers character is Admrial Marcus carol Marcus farther so I don't think he's playing Robert April !!!

Has this ever been officially confirmed? And why haven't we seen anything of him in the trailers? We haven't even seen a picture of him!

I'm in Arizona, though I was born in Illinois, and say I'm from Missouri.

Johnson said: "a character we have not yet seen in the new timeline shows up in Issue #1 and plays a critical role in the story"

I believe we will see, probably, Robert April in the film, since you don't need to read the comic to know the story. Then someone plays April. My guess is Peter Weller.

Nope, but people keep repeating it anyways.

It was originally said that Weller's character was new, not canon. I don't think April necessarily constitutes new, but nor is it exactly canon either.

So this is one more guess about April.

April as drawn in the comic looks like character actor Nolan North.

    I read the comic.
    * Phaedus was surveyed five years ago by a Starfleet vessel, approximately 2253 or 2254
    * The Phaedans are using older model Starfleet tricorders with universal translators and are wielding phaser rifles
    * Captain Robert April commanded what he described as "...a ship called Enterprise..."
    * Captain Robert April is wearing a variant of the Starfleet uniform

I don't have an interpretation of these facts, but they lead somewhere.

^And the Prime Directive seems to be an issue here as well.
The Phaedans are supposed to be at the Roman Empire level of civilization but April gives them all the advanced tech.

Seems reminiscent of Tracy's actions in Omega Glory. One hopes minus the American accoutrements.

The world (Phaedus) being different from what we know is the name of the world at the beginning of the film, (I forget, had shots) may mean this is the beginning of a 'string of prime directive violations' which April, (& Cohorts) could be behind all of them. It's beginning to gel!

There is not much difference between the two planets. Both are class M, perhaps with gravity like Earth, except for the type and degree of civilization of humanoids.

Probably have to read the other comics to find that out, I'd guess. That's what I plan to do.

There's nothing to explain for now, it's a mystery.
We wait and see how it all fits together when the next issues come out.
