My only concern is the third Trek film. After spending close to a year working on Episode VII, Abrams may not want to work on another space opera in so short a time frame.
Remember when George Lucas said there would be no Star Wars sequels, even after his death? $4,000,000,000 later he's changed his tune. This move pretty much makes him an outright liar, since last month he said, "There were the very early conversations and I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just being a fan, I wouldn't even want to be involved in the next version of those things. I declined any involvement very early on. I'd rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them."
I'm not going to trust a single thing he says from now on. Harrison IS Khan.
Wouldn't mind as much if Matthew Vaughn wasn't in the runnings to direct. He's proven himself more worthy of handing a fantasy film with no need for lens flares and beating on the camera.Someone changing their mind! The HORROR!!!
If I had a chance to work on Trek, I'd likely be reluctant at first... but then the inner fan in me would take over.![]()
But with Trek he feels like he has to oversee it now.

If the Star Wars rumor is true, he'll likely be overseeing Trek 3 from a producers chair.

I'm only calling for a boycott if JJ doesn't say the following when it comes to directing the new Star Wars film.
"I am not making this for Star Wars fans. I am making this for movie fans."
Since he's an outspoken fan of Star Wars and NOT a fan of Star Trek, I highly doubt he'll say anything as condescending towards his fan favorite franchise.
Abrams: Expect To Cry
John sounds like Khan. Case closed indeed.Variety has now confirmed it (which makes it true) and, yes, Harrison is Khan.
