They list all the Enterprises (Even the damn B!) except for the Enterprise C?!

That is simply a crime.

While I like the Excelsior class, I like the Ambassador class too, and the refit look of the B has always seemed kind of pointless to me. Its weird they didn't put the C on there, especially since some of the ships on the list look pretty stupid.

Excelsior class was always may favorite as well - big surprise look at my avatar.

Has anyone ever looked at the scale of the largest federation ship compared to a super stardestroyer?

I also like the Excelsior class, but hated the 'pot belly love handles' they gave to the B. It really mussed it the design.

Here's a video on the design evolution of the Enterprise ships (sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread by focusing on Trek ships, but the CGI shown here is impressive for each class).

A plucked chicken and big blue box number 1 and 2? I don't think so.

Kudos to whoever found the starship pics though, some of the best I've seen.

Well given that SFX is a British Magazine, that's to be expected.

Please, a Top 50 list? Is there any iconic ship that wouldn't be included in a list that big?

Any list that doesn't have the Enterprise at number one and the Falcon at number two just isn't worth my time.

    The Enterprise C. :p

The War of the Worlds ships weren't on there, or the Planet Express.

Well maybe, considering there are 100s of ships from some of the more well known shows.

Only two or three ships per page? That's fucking annoying, I found more interesting things to do after the first three pages.

I liked the Leonov, as well as the Discovery and the ship in Avatar. And the Enterprise, the real one, from Star Trek, still counts as the most innovative attack on phallic symbolism and pointless streamlining that still incorporates a saucer motif. Babylon 5's Earth warships almost make it for the rotating midsection but the weird armaments cause too much cognitivie dissonance.

All the rest may be pleasing or not to the eye, but there's nothing beneath the surface. And therefore don't really belong on an all time list, I think.

So, they throw in images these ships supposedly look like. Why didn't they have an image of an Akira class ship as the Enterprise NX-01's doppleganger?

Technically, the Enterprise B is a one-off as well. Surprised they didn't go with the Excelsior instead. It's more recognizable.

Or a hamburger with a pickle for the Falcon as that is the idea for its design?
