I'd like to know what you think are the worst lines of dialogue (for writing OR delivery) in the entire series. Here are some of my own nominations...

“Personally, I find the lady's taste questionable, but she obviously prefers you, and you obviously don't seem to mind.”

"He ran in, said you wanted us on the bridge."

"Gonna crack my knuckles and jump for joy ! Got a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy!"

"Do you say you will fight me?"

Can't find fault with this one. It was supposed to sound goofy.

"I'm talking to Mr. Spock! Don't you understand!!!...I've got it! The disease! Love....blah blah blah...have you noticed her Mr. Spock? You're allowed to notice. Blah blah blah"

And this after Nimoy gets like three minutes for his scene. Shatner (whether by choice or not) gets...45 seconds?

Though "no beach to walk on" is okay.

    "No, BLAH BLAH BLAH!"

"Somebody beaming down from the bridge."

"Brain and brain, what is brain?!"

"When I came aboard!!!" (the second use)

    "What's happening to Lt. You-hear-rah!"

    "Captain's log, stardate...armageddon."

In "The Ultimate Computer", when Kirk is in his cabin talking to McCoy.

    "Unnuhununuhhh..."

Cracks me up every time. Even though it's Shatner's unique acting and not a real line.

The ... impostor had some ... interesting qualities, wouldn't you say, Yeoman?- Spock, to Rand in 'The Enemy Within'- There just is no way to make that comment come out remotely sane, much less good. Rand should have hauled off and belted him.

Here's one from "Patterns of Force":

    SPOCK: Your uniform, Captain.
KIRK: Yes, it's a shame yours isn't as attractive as mine. Gestapo, I believe.
SPOCK: Quite correct. You should make a very convincing Nazi.

If Spock only had the uniform in mind, wouldn't he have said "IT should make a very convincing Nazi."?

It's a joke. It's one of the funniest lines in the series.

Spock got tons of practice in human insult humor while sparring with McCoy.

But that line is the only good thing I like in the whole eps.

Agreed. Though I do like seeing background characters with lines and seldom seen parts of the ship.

This probably belongs in the 'unjustly hated' thread, but I have no problem with "The Alternative Factor". It's pretty much the only ep I can point to Kirk actually saving not just the galaxy, but the universe.

In the spirit of that: Uhura is all ready to take another slap from a genetic superman, but when she hears Kirk is dead, she throws her head on the table to sob.

That was the first one that came to my mind.

I actually use it all the time at work.

Just about the entire script of "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield," is cringeworthy, but this exchange pretty much sums it up:
    Subtle as a wrecking ball.

Which episode was that in? Makes me think of "Double Secret Probation."

    Still love Gorshin in that.

True Story: I've always wanted to tell Gorshin how much I enjoyed his performance in LTBYLB...I was waiting on a guy once, and this woman who worked with me was telling me how familiar he looked. I was like, "enh."

Then after he left, she figured out it was Gorshin...not too long after he died. (sigh)
