Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.

Hope this hasn't been touched on already, but here's test footage for a couple of Warner Brothers abominations.

Guaranteed to make you doubt the existence of God.

Eddie instead of Scatman for the voice of Hong Kong Phooey kinda works and Marvin's voice is pretty close, but these movies are usually pretty lame.

The less said about "Marvin" the better.

However, childhood nostalgia and the theme song aside, "Hong Kong Phooey" was always a crap show and this update is, at worst, a continuation of that.

why does gross out humor have to be in everything? i feel like Hong Kong Phooey was pretending to be Johnny Knoxville.

Wasn't Hong Kong Fooey's real identity a police station janitor? He should be very familiar with the hygiene and usage of toilets. It only lasted one season, and I agree that the theme intro was its redeeming feature. Otherwise, I seem to recall that it's the same joke repeated again and again.

You can't really have Marvin without Duck Dodgers IMHO. I've never seen the DD series from the early 2000's. I think it won some awards so I might check it out when it becomes available on DVD.

The Duck Dodgers series was sublimely funny. I highly recommend it. Best use of the WB characters since Tiny Toons.

I would love to have a Marvin the Martian movie but that test footage was godawful. Less said about Hong Kong Phooey the better.

I never thought about this before but does Hong Kong Phooey being a dog ever amount to anything? Maybe a radical reboot would be for him to just be a guy.

Actually, Marvin the Martian (though he didn't have a name yet) made his first appearance in the 1948 cartoon Haredevil Hare, starring Bugs Bunny. I think an animated Marvin in a contemporary live-action universe could work, but he needs a strong character like Bugs or Daffy as a foil.

As for Hong Kong Phooey, never heard of him. The toilet stuff was just bad, bad bad.

Maybe I'm just sick of dragging CGI cartoon characters inot the real world with no explaination. Garfield, The Smurfs, The Chipmunks, etc.
