GL#15- Interesting, the First Lantern's name is Volthoom. Which is the name if the monk who gave the Crime Syndicate's Power Ring his battery and ring.

I haven't been reading this, but I have been following this debate. If the Joker was only pretending to know various identities, wouldn't he be likely to assume that Batwoman was part of the extended family (ie, guessing that all Bat-people were part of a single group)? That Batwoman is not a target implies that Joker knows she's not a part of the family he's trying to destroy.

Not necessarily. The only time I can recall Batwoman really working with the Batfamily is during the Blackest Knight story, which was while Dick was under the cowl. Someone as close to Batman as the Joker would see very clearly that Batwoman is not associated with him the way that Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Robin, etc are.

Batwoman did appear in "Batman Inc" as well, but I believe that was just with Bruce.

Any speculation on what her new project will be?

Also it would appear that Rob Liefeild and Scott Snyder have patched things up since his twitter attack against Snyder a couple months ago. He tweeted that he reached out to Rob and the two of them are all good now apparently.

Good to hear, I've really enjoyed Batgirl and I think Simone has a lot to do with it.

    On this week's pulls:

Catwoman and Supergirl. I've not read the former yet but read SG last night which is the latest installment in the Superman/Supergirl/Superboy H'El arc. A pretty good issue showing us some more of Kara's Kryptonian life and she visits the bottle city of Kandor for a bit too, and continues to be manipulated by H'El.

It's good that fan backlash still has some kind of pull...but really Gail is capable of far better work as we've seen before, and Batgirl just has not been that interesting to me, and it was one of my most anticipated books in the relaunch. I am glad others are enjoying it, but for myself it's been one of the big disappointments.

Gail's Batgirl has been pretty awful.

I've been a Geoff Johns Green Lantern fan the whole time, but this "Rise of the Third Army" is terrible so far. All three books are doing nothing to actually advance the story so far, they all feel like worthless tie-ins where the zombie lanterns attack some random people. And they look so STUPID. Like bad Grey Aliens with their brains showing. Ugh.

Also, I'm really not enjoying the fact that Hal and Sinestro were taken off the book and replaced with a new character who is contributing nothing to the larger story.

yeah, i've loved Johns GL since GL Rebirth...but this Third Army storyline isn't all that great. i quit reading Red Lanterns and GL Corps several issues back though.

I've been debating how much of the Third Army storyline to follow. I'm interested in the Hal/Sinestro angle personally, because it's been my experience those two play well off each other when the writing is good.

I dropped Red Lanterns very quickly but I'm lingering on with GLC and GL:NG, but GL proper is the only one that (before recently) was a four star affair.

Well, now we've been told that Rise of the Third Army isn't the actual big story, and that it's just meant as a prelude to Wrath of the First Lantern. I'm already reading GL, GLC, and GL:NG and will continue to do so because I'm about as big a Lantern fan as there is. The Third Army itself isn't really playing into the books as much as I would like at this point, but I'm enjoying the stories that they're telling. Hal and Sinestro trapped in the dead world, and the new Lantern Simon Baz figuring out his place, Guy Gardner manipulated out of the Corps by the Guardians, Kyle learning to harness the powers of the whole spectrum, these are all stories that are interesting to me. It will all come to a head soon enough, I'm sure.

I just hope this takes out the Guardians once and for all, I'm sick of their dickery.

Haven't really been paying attention to anything GL since I dropped "Green Lantern" after the first issue. Johns' GL work to me has been uninteresting since the conclusion of "Blackest Night".

Agreed. I think I've said it before, but I'd love to see the Lanterns being forced to stand on their own. Maybe they would have a Senior Council of Lanterns with people like Kilowog, Guy (he'll be back, you can guarantee that,) Salaak, etc. Something tells me that they might offer it to John, but he would have little interest. I just think there's a lot of story potential in forcing the Corps to figure out their place in the universe without the Guardians calling the shots.

That's too bad. While it did seem to be spinning its wheels for a little while after Blackest Night, I thought War of the Green Lanterns was suitably epic. Also, the post New52 stuff was uniformly strong. Hal and Sinestro working together made for some fantastic stories. I like Baz so far, but I really want those two to return to the forefront.

It's interest, but after all this, I really can't see Sinestro as a villain any more. He's really become more of an anti-hero. It's a great shift though. The way Johns has made it happen feels completely organic. I really hope we don't see him return to villainy after all is said and done. Sinestro and Hal together are just too much fun to undo.

Baz's costume kind of reminds me of Kick-Ass's if he was a GL :)

Catwoman: Seriously, what the fuck is going on in this comic anymore?
