Kirk to Enterprise. Mr. Scott, prepare to beam us up. I have a little surprise for you. I'm bringing a visitor aboard.
This character has always reminded me of a very strange last sentence uttered by Kirk at the ending of Plato's Stepchildren.
He is bringing Alexander up to the Enterprise and he says to Scotty:
"Little" reference aside, why would Scott be so surprised about this particular visitor?Kirk to Enterprise. Mr. Scott, prepare to beam us up. I have a little surprise for you. I'm bringing a visitor aboard.
Could Scotty be heartbroken over the loss of a old friend who happened to be a short little alien and Kirk is hoping to cheer him up?

True. Screen time was minimal. I just found his presence not so much annoying as just unneeded. Again, just my opinion.
Is it me or is Keenser going to end up as our (Trek fans) Jar Jar?

I thought Scotty was more annoying than Keenser.
