By not yielding to his demands and not giving him any chance to start the war in the first place?Any simplistic bumper-sticker slogan like "War is not the answer." Well, sometimes war is the answer. How else should we have dealt with Hitler?

"BECAUSE I SAID SO, THAT'S WHY!"
Anyone who has ever dealt with kids has probably said this at some point, or at least heard it when they were kids. I try very hard not to say it to my nieces and nephew because it's a total BS line.
^ The alternative would have been to let the Nazis take over Europe, and perhaps the world. War was, quite simply, the only thing that stopped them from doing that.

"Because you need it." <- the explanation given to me when I used to ask why I had to have extra time on exams at primary school or use a laptop to type instead of writing, etc. (It turned out to be because I have crap eyesight. I only discovered the full reason for this when I had to sign a form saying I had the syndrome that causes my multisensory impairment at age 18, and hadn't even heard of it...)
Wow...that's pretty bad for your parents not to inform you at a proper age (much younger than 18, for sure!) and let you be a real partner in your own accommodations!
In such cases I usually ask the person to please set their minds to being able to fly (personally, not with a plane) and then perform a few loopings for demonstrational purposes. So far nobody's willpower (or character) was sufficient to sprout feathersI always hated platitudes like, “You can do anything if you set your mind to it,” and the corollary, “If you haven’t succeeded, you haven’t tried hard enough. There is no such thing as lack of ability or lack of opportunity, only lack of character.”
Kindof. A condome at the proper time and place would have been sufficient. You mean a preemptive strike[...]By [...]not giving him any chance to start the war in the first place?[...] How else should we have dealt with Hitler?![]()
That's an excellent example! It costs a lot of strength to allow oneself to show a weakness. Hence real men (i.e. men with a strong character, according to the stereotype) do cry. Only weaklings don't.'Real men don't cry'. Yeah. Right.
What about big girls?. . . It costs a lot of strength to allow oneself to show a weakness. Hence real men (i.e. men with a strong character, according to the stereotype) do cry.
the same. Imho there's no difference between the genders, besides the obvious physical ones. What about big girls?

What a terrible lack of character! Everybody knows that we can grow feathers if we only really want to![]()
Snuggling is the foreshadowing of foreplay.
There's only one rule. There are no rules.
This annoys me to no end. If there are no rules, then how can there only be one rule!
Well, that's a bit silly, IMHO. Use of the possessive pronoun doesn't necessarily indicate ownership; it can also signify endearment."His woman," "her man," and any other version of this. Being in a romantic relationship does not mean ownership of another person and I refuse to acknowledge that it does, even if the people involved don't mind, or even like, being owned. I cringe every time I hear it.
I assume you did get the musical reference, right?the same. Imho there's no difference between the genders, besides the obvious physical ones. What about big girls?
I couldn't agree more. If comon sense was indeed common, there'd be much fewer problems in the world."Common sense."
