How do people feel about the Joker's new maintenance man costume replacing his old purple coat? I thought it just was a one time thing but apparently it's the permanent uniform. Not sure how I feel about that.

I read Batgirl #14, haven't been reading the book, is this the same evil Gordon son from the Snyder issues of Detective pre-relaunch? Did they change anything about him?

Also, is Gordon married in the current continuity? Did the Joker still kill Sarah Essen? Did No Man's Land still happen? I hate this relaunch :p

I have no problem with his appearance, his attire has to do with his new mentality and focus right now. Harley basically states to Batman that he's not "her Mistah Jay" any more...and she's right. It would appear that Joker has changed right down to the type of clothing he wears, and yes James Jr is the same character from Snyder's run in Detective Comics. Gordon is not married currently, but we've seen Babs mother I believe in "Batgirl" at least she appeared I believe in the second arc. Not sure if Essen and Jim were married or the No Man's Land massacre occurred. We were told prior to the relaunch that everything Batman oriented still happened...but as usual that could have changed.

Didn't they say that Tim was never a Robin now? :wtf: And do Stephanie or Cassandra even exist anymore?

Do you know what a reboot is?

He was Red Robin from the start. So still a Robin in my opinion.

It's what ever the people doing the rebooting say it is.

Catching up now in a few titles over the past two weeks (not that I'm done marking; I just don't are any more). Wonder Woman remains interesting: I respect the attempt to create a consistent look even when artists change, and the Olympus plot is gathering steam even after the first arc.

I wouldn't worry about the Joker's new look. Nothing is permanent with the Clown Prince of Crime.

Liked both of my books this week (Batgirl and Batman), Batman was very good and I like where the "Death of the Family" story is going. Batgirl was pretty darn good too, but the "shocker ending" was a bit silly. For some reason it made me think of when Beetlejuice wanted to marry Lydia in, well, "Beetlejuice" Basically just our psycho antagonist character wanting to marry the young hottie because he's unbalanced with deeper motivations.

I found some of the art in "Batgirl" to be odd and not very... "flattering" towards Barbra? Too many lines on a character's face and body makes them look old and flabby.

I'm not much feeling the Joker's "new look" either and really the medical and biological mechanics of it all baffle me.

Still good couple of books look forward to where DotF goes from here.

I never got the impression that the Joker wanted to marry Batgirl. He was trying to torment her with her mother's severed ring finger. He was using the marriage bit as a joke, you know, because he's the Joker.

Well, sure, he wants to torment her but I also think he wants to marry her. Not out of love or anything like that, obviously, but for whatever his greater goal is in all of this.

A super villain wants to marry Batgirl? Man, that's never been done before!

Justice League has been good since Jim Lee left the book. I guess he really was co-plotting because the last two issues since he's been gone have been great. Oh and the last page on Justice League #14 was awesome :) Also Tony Daniels art has been remarkable.

Wikipedia lists a number of one-shots and limited series, such as Phantom Lady, National Comics, and The Ray, which they say are part of the new 52 continuity, but they don't have the New 52 logo on them and I'd never even realized they existed. Can anyone confirm that they are indeed part of the new continuity?

    Those might've been cancelled books.

The Ray was definitely New 52. Not sure about the others.

Ray/Phantom Lady were minis and the National Comics were one-shots in the Nu52. I personally recommend the Kid Eternity One-Shot.

I'm not sure that all of them, or any of them really, were canceled. The Ray for example seemed to just be a miniseries. I was expecting that The Ray would show up in another book though. He would've been a good fit for Justice League International, but that did get canceled. Granted if the Ray mini really took off with readers it might've have gone to a full series but I don't think that was the intention.

The Ray and PhantomLady/Doll Man were books by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, the writers on the pre-52 Freedom Fighter book. Those two minis were probably there to lay the groundwork for a new Freedom Fighters team.
