One Recommendation

My recommendation (for today):

Try Fenton's Creamery if you happen to be around SF Bay Area/California. Order the crab melt and try one of their store-made ice cream flavors. They'll even give you a tour if you make arrangements in advance. Truly superb.

Well, I took your recommendation and tried Fenton's!

(Couldn't order the crab melt; turns out it was prohibitively expensive! :( )

So what did you order? Did you try any of their ice creams?

Stay healthy - eat right, exercise, get regular checkups, don't let little problems get out of hand. My biggest regret is not doing this, because it's caused me no end of discomfort.

*blush* I didn't end up ordering anything. :( I had every intention to, but when I saw the prices, I....eep.

But one of my friends actually bought us a pint of ice cream to share between us, and that ended up working out great. We got...I think it was the chocolate peanut butter kind. And I sampled one of their coffee flavors; also great. :)

I'd definitely like to go back sometime and try the crab melt in the (hopefully more financially stable) future. It was a pretty nice place!

But then, yes, I make my bed, mostly because I made the quilts & afghans on it & like to see the results of my hard work & skill.

I just wanted to say, this is awesome.

I've always wanted to make an afghan. I've got the technique down, now it's just a matter of stocking up on yarn and time. :D

Call a dear friend and tell them you love them, guy or gal. Friends deserve to know how important they are even if they blush and feel a little uncomfortable about it.

Friends make the world go 'round and many are taken for granted.

When I finished the latest (a really simple traditional granny), I realized that some of the yarn I've been moving with me around the country for the last 40 years.

It was kind of nice to finally use it! ;)

Next up, a crazy quilt from worn-out cashmere pullovers that I've felted.

ETA: You can take a long time to finish an afghan or a quilt. Square by square, piece by piece. :)

I gotta admit the crab melt is quite pricy. Might I add that when a supervisor at work decided to treat us out to lunch over there, most of my colleagues ordered the crab melt, possibly the most expensive item on the menu. :)

Haha, awesome!

Feel what you feel and help/let others do the same. During times of trouble it's fashionable to admire people who 'keep a stiff upper lip' and 'stay strong'. Thing is, just as you may need a shoulder to cry on, the person near you may, too. As Spider Robinson wrote (paraphrasing), "Shared joy is increased and shared pain is decreased".
