Which DC comic should be made into an Animated film?

What DC comics story do you think would be good a one of their DTV animated films?

I know that they are planning on making Flashpoint into a movie, but I think that there are better options.

My personal choices would be:

Kingdom Come
Superman: Red Son
Sinestro Corp War/Blackest Night
Knightfall
No Man's Land
Justice Society: The Liberty File

I'd love to see something with the classic Titans or Legion (perhaps the Great Darkness Saga) or the original Justice Society.

I a haven't read it myself, but based on what I've read about it No Man's Land sounds like it could be a pretty cool movie.

Crisis On Infinite Earths. Man of Steel.

I actually think that Crisis could be a really interesting choice for an animated film. I think it might be too much to include all of the worlds that were in the original story (most would be unrecognizeable to a modern audience). The modification that I would make to to make the film something of a homage to all of the animated versions of the DC characters that have been made to date.

So for instance, you might find the JLA created for the film teaming up with the JLI from Brave and the Bold the JLU from the DCAU, the Superfriends the Justice Guild etc with appearances from say GL TAS, characters from Young Justice, Superman and the Legion of Superheroes, The Batman, Teen Titans etc...with the Earth 2 Superman being played by the version seen in the Fleisher serials. It could sort of be a love letter to DC animation.

I think that NML could be cool, but one of the things that made NML interesting (that would be hard to show in isolation) is the fact that the US Congress actually did have a point about what a blight Gotham had become in the run up to NML. In the year or so prior to the earthquake that leveled the city the city had confronted an outbreak of the "Contagion" plague and the subsequent "Legacy" virus...and the crimes got bigger an nastier. Congress started to realize that Gotham was becoming a black hole. The Cataclysm was the straw that broke the camel's back.

You don't really need that background but it makes the government's attitude more understandable.

What would also make NML unique is that it is one of the few times where you have a Batman story where the ultimate antagonist is a Superman villain and Superman is not really a part of the story.

I don't think it could be done, atleast not in just one movie, but 52 would be awesome. Its a great series, but in order to get all the characters stories in there you'd probably need more than one 70 minute movie.

Other ones that would be cool:
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (I wish they had made this one)
Kingdom Come
Crisis on Infinite Earths
Teen Titans: Graduation Day
Blackest Night
JLA/Titans: The Technis Imperative

Crisis On Infinite Earths. Man of Steel.

This, please.

Others:
- JLA: Heaven's Ladder
- Superman: Birthright
- GL/GA: Hard-travelling Heroes
- a feature-length remake of Fleischer's "The Arctic Giant"
- an adaption of Christopher Golden's "JLA: Exterminators" (probably the best DC novel I've ever read)

Looking beyond comics per se, how about a film version of Elliot S! Maggin's novel Superman: Last Son of Krypton? Although it'd have to be a 2-parter to do it justice.

If we're going to toss novels into the list too, how about The Last Days of Krypton? I've been really enjoying it so far.

It would also have to be a period-piece, or the Einstein part wouldn't work. On the other hand, that Einstein paper was a MacGuffin anyway. Could be replaced with something else.
But I have to agree, while some details are quite dated by now (like aliens stealing Xerox machines, wth was Maggin thinking), the overall story was quite good and could make a great movie.

Either the Gray Man or Despero storylines from the Giffen/DeMatteis run on Justice League.
