Halloween 2012 - Costumes, Ideas, & Photos Thread

We want to carve Romney into our pumpkin this year...however we don't want it to look like we're endorsing him - quite the opposite. So we're thinking of making up a sign above the pumpkin that says "THIS ISN'T AN ENDORSEMENT. LOOK! WE HAVE A VOLT!"

That should keep all of our hippie neighbors from kicking in Romney's face.

^I love a good group costume. When my nephew was newborn (he was born October 6th), my sister and her husband each dressed in original series Star Trek uniforms and they dressed Liam as a tribble! It was great!

We're getting the group costumes in while we can. We know eventually, probably sooner then later that the kids will want to do their own thing.

It won't happen, but it would be absolutely perfect if my 3 kids dressed as Yakko (son-12), Wakko (son-4), and Dot (daughter-8). Their personalities fit the characters perfectly! However, they did say that if they did that, I should go as Dr. Scratchnsniff. Although for some reason, I can't convince my wife to dress up as Hello Nurse!

Give him fangs.

Actually, maybe I should aim for all my neighbors kicking in Romney's face.

TNZ! Wokka wokka!

You could make a contest out of it.

As for me, I'm thinking of being uber lazy and just wearing this or something like it.

How freaking adorable! You should dress her up as Marvel women too - Phoenix and She Hulk and Rogue have always been personal faves. To show you're a "cross the aisle" kind of guy you could do Supergirl and Wonder Woman and Bat Girl too!

I fully expect to see photos of all these ideas, they sound like too much fun!

I made a blue TOS dress some years ago - even wore it opening night to NuTrek movie - got lazy and oordered the Rubies TOS red dress from ebay this year - can't wait!

*Kira's Mom* - I'd love to see your Merida!

Right now I'm bidding on a vintage Harris Tweed grey deerstalker with silk lining for my Sherlock Holmes costume. It's a steal at the current bid of £11, so I'm crossing my fingers!

I was planning on going as society's stereotype of what a witch looks like with the striped stockings and skanky mini skirt with a pointed hat and broom.

Oooh, this thread should be good. usually is. I kind wish Halloween was a bigger thing around here, then I'd might get off my ass and renovate mu old Zoidberg costume.

tsq, I have got to show my little sis you in your Sherlock costume when it's done. She is a HUGE Sherlock fan, and will die squeeing
My boyfriend and I will be Stan and Wendy from South Park...

How did that go TSQ? I hope we get to see that!

My one year old daughter as Nick Fury:

As promised, we did the rest of the Avengers (except Hawkeye) and the pics can be seen here.

How cute is that? She is adorable! (I know, you were going for intimidating!)

Instead of going as Society's stereotype of what a witch looks like, I've decided to go as a female Dr. Fenway from Threshold. Bit of a homage to Brent Spiner. Just have to find some hand me down light blue scrubs.

Here's an interesting article that I also read in the latest edition of TIME magazine.

The average Halloween reveler expects to spend almost $80 on costumes, decorations and candy, according to the National Retail Federation. That's up from just over $72 last year, with total consumer spending on the spooky holiday expected to eclipse $8 billion.

There's a Halloween party at my work on Saturday. I wasn't sure about going go as I'm not normally one for dressing up, it's not really my thing. But I just had a brainwave based on my favourite movie, I'll go as Marty McFly :D

Just did a google image search and found this guy-

Jeans, easy. I have a red T-shirt and denim jacket (and some Marty style sunglasses, not pictured.) I'm just gonna go into town this week and get a cheap red gilet and whiteish shirt. I have similar hair too.
And actually I own the replica 2015 hat from BTTF 2, so I guess I could wear that too. Sorted! :)

^That is a great Marty McFly! I've actually thought of doing that costume for the past few years...sometime I'll have to get around to it!
