Marvel All New, All Different - Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

New Iron Man Battle armor is one of the worst I have ever seen. Head cant turn, Giant hands and a useless Gatling gun on the left forearm. Bwahahahahahaha. Stealth armor not to bad and actually could be cool with the light bending tech built in. Hope it doesnt affect his nervous system like the Silver Centurian light bending tech did.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I assume the new heavy duty armor won't be stored inside Tony's body?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Considering how painful it was to extract the bastard, it's possible that tony doesn't think that that is a good idea any more... Although as far as women bragging about the pain of child birth, I think he has them beat.

The next step is what solid light/hard light holographical armour?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Amazing Spider-Man #700 is the final issue, and two other Marvel books are being cancelled as well. I'm not entirely surprised by the Amazing news, kind of felt like something was in the works. It also fuels fire to the rumour that the Superior announcement has something to do with Spider-Man.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

After they re-launch It'll be a long wait until they switch back to the original numbering for issue #800.

Marvel really needs to find a new trick. The constant cancel/re-launch/return to the original numbering is past getting old.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Agreed. Although I'm not going to miss "Wolverine" or "Captain American And".

Ditto, I think I've even said it before.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Probably the sentiment of most fans, regarding Marvel as they've become notorious with this tactic. I rag on DC a lot right now because they bug me, but Marvel's not perfect or anything in my eyes either. I just happen to like a lot more from them right now over stuff DC is putting out.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Captain America and...is an ok book, but i won't really miss it too much. couldn't care less about Wolverine. relaunching ASM is dumb. Marvel's relaunch/renumber tactic is really getting old.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I don't really see the point of renumbering unless you actually start the continuity over. I know they do it as a way to attract new readers, but I really think if people are interested enough in the comics to read them, they'll probably read them whether it's number 1 or 701. But I guess that could just be me.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I think the new Spidey book will have a different name to reflect the Marvel Now era. It may even be adjectiveless again (it's been a few years since the last one, IIRC), so I could see them bringing it back with a new #1...

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

As much as I'm enjoying some of what DC is doing, I'm not surprised (but I am alarmed) that some of the best writers are being sidelined creatively. Gotham Central was amazing, and like Secret Six, I don't know that DC is doing anything half as good right now. Wonder Woman and Action, maybe, and Demon Knights comes close. But All-Star Western is starting to circle itself, and Swamp Thing/Animal Man shot their load pretty early on.

I did think it was odd to put the Punisher on a team book ...

This pretty much summarizes my thoughts on the Big 2's issue numbering schemes:

Personally, I've pretty much given up on these comics. You are bombarded with series after series, with crossovers, and the same characters in multiple series (which sometimes reference each other)... it's just frustrating for the reader and too damn expensive to stay on top of it all.
Couldn't they limit themselves to one series/issue per week with more pages per issue (quality instead of quantity)?
There are 15 NOW-issues in for 10 series due out in November. That's overkill.
