ROBOCOP remake finds its director and star

^MGM is making Robocop, whereas Fox is behind Die Hard (and Fox interference also had an effect on X-Men 3 and Wolverine), but yeah, sounds like much the same situation.
Yeah, they might be different companies, but the mindset is basically the same. But it depends on the situation, I guess. Paramount interfered heavily with Rick Berman's ideas about Star Trek, but it seems they let JJ Abrams do what he wants. I guess success makes you more independent from studio dictate.

Batman versus Robocop! It's great to see Keaton on the big screen in a big budget movie, he's been too rarely onscreen for a long time.

In the coincidence corner, the original Robocop, Peter Weller, voices Batman in the animated The Dark Knight Returns, while Gary Oldman, who is also in this Robocop, was of course Jim Gordon in the more recent Batman movies.

Iron Man's going to have a huge influence on armored folks in movies from now on. It was such a mainstream success the aesthetics have set a new standard.

Personally, I think it's underwhelming, though not horrible.

I'm sure it will look much better in the finished movie. The Iron Man suit didn't so great until all the visual effects shots were completed.

Yeah, that's true. It's never the best idea to judge an outfit on the basis of shots like this.

But Jarod Russell's Iron Man/ Batman offspring remark perhaps best captures the apparent lack of originality this suit seems to have.

Yeah, that's true. It's never the best idea to judge an outfit on the basis of shots like this.

I'm remember many fans were pissed about the second Iron Man superbowl trailer and complained how Iron Man shooting the tank looked fake. Of course nearly them ended up loving the suit after seeing the movie.

Not even the trailers won't have all the visual effects done in time. Of course if it sucks in the completed film, fans have every right to complain.

Looks decent enough, and the helmet is cool... but I was still hoping for something more than just standard superhero armor.

It looks like a suit he put on, instead of something that was actually built by an army of scientists and technicians.

Hell, even the Iron Man suit looks more "robotic" than this.

That first pic where he has the visor still on it looks like they visual input is red, going in a curve about the visor. That has a very Cylon look to it.

I'm just having trouble seeing Robocop, plenty of influences that make me think of other fare, but not Robocop at this point.

Doesn't look he's doing much of a robotic walk either. Assuming that first shot is from filming, it looks like he's walking pretty naturally.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this Robocop does a lot of running and jumping around too (like the robots in I, Robot or something), just because, well, that's what all robots in scifi DO nowadays.
