One-year countdown thread!

Why not indeed? Join us KingDaniel!

I was having a hard time getting started this morning (I'm trying to cut back on coffee) and I put "Come on Eileen" in the disc player...now I'm cheered up and ready to face the day(...just pretend you don't see the slight tremor in my hand as I go through caffeine withdrawal...)

And Jeff O'Connor, watch it Junior! I may be old enough to be your mother, but certainly not your grandma!! Tread carefully sonny! LOL!

Cheers!

WOO-HOO! Lets get it started in here!

*notices blank stares* What? It's 80's, correct?

 Oops, sorry about that. Perhaps the following will help wash that horrific noise out of your head.

Better?

LOL, I'm getting flak all over the place for bringing her up a lot lately! But no worries, she was rather young for being my grandma, and quite hip and happenin' on the 80's and even 90's scenes. She used to play things like Depeche Mode in-between commercials breaks of TNG, because she wanted something "better than commercials". :p

Nah, still got Jitterbug stuck in my head. It'll be there until the 50's at least:)
Here's the Family Guy version:

Oooh, '84, that was a very good year.

Wham, actually had quite a few really good tunes, "Wake Me Up Before you Go", though, wasn't really among them.

I like quite a few Depeche Mode songs too. I remember watching a late night Canadian Sketch show years back (SCTV?) that had a sketch with the Jolly Green Giant as a normal sized girl's boyfriend being introduced to her father, and it broke into a Musical Video for "People Are People" by Depeche Mode. I must google that on Youtube one day and save it to my Hard Drive

Only 10 more days, and we can do the "The Happy Dance" again, because we will have hit the "1/4 of the wait is over" mark. (IE: 3 months down and only 9 months left)

Yaaaye!

Another reason to dance...this time to 80's music!

<wanders off to prepare an 80's mix...and hide all of the lamps...>

From Thompson Twins, this might be better for dancing:

^Bah, "the content owner has not made this video available on mobiles" :(

I'm still humming Jitterbug, though. Even if my sister thought it was the Addams Family theme.... I need to work on my humming.

Highly anticipating the 70's.... I suspect the popcorn song may be the only thing that'll get jitterbug out of my echoey song filled brain.

1981..

The further we go
And older we grow
The more we know ...
The less we show ...

<SIGH> Although nice to be further in the countdown, I'm gonna miss the 80s, all over again </SIGH>

Pure Disco or the more Rock oriented offerings?

;) They'll be back again, twice. (180's & 80's)
