Which part of this...And isn't fighting against women's rights (in terms of abortion), fighting for babies rights? Wouldn't spending the other way let you scream at Chick-Fil-A is supporting baby killers?
...says anything about abortion? The part about making women full-time homemakers? And how about that anti-vaccination advocacy, huh?
But the Eagle Forum doesn't support making women full-time homemakers. Even Phillis Schlaffly isn't a full time homemaker or she couldn't be running around leading the Eagle Forum, now could she? What they do is support full time homemakers, who are often attacked as not having a real job.
And their anti-vaccination advocacy is against making the fairly recent (late 1990's) Hepatitis B vaccine mandatory for infants. Texas and Arkansas make it mandatory for preschool, Vermont, Connecticut, and New Jersey don't.
So excuse me if I don't see this as a typical example of a hate group.
Or how about...
...the bolded items have nothing to do with just gays, they are advocating against basic SCIENCE.Family Research Council
It advocates against LGBT rights, abortion, divorce, embryonic stem-cell research, the theory that global warming is the result of human activity, and pornography.
No, they're not. Embryonic stem-cell research has never produced a treatment, and possibly won't because adult stem cells are proving just as versatile and are already a genetic match for the patient. There may be some advantages to embryonic stem cells over something like pluripotent adult stem cells, but scientists can now even make stem cells out of skin cells. Science moved on.
As for global warming, the whole argument is daft. It requires us to believe, since we know any cooling is bad, that any warming is even worse. That means we must have been living at the absolute optimal climate the Earth has ever attained, and that the climate was at this optimum everywhere, from the glaciers to the rainforest.
If it would warm up, life would be much better off. During the emian period Canada was as warm as Florida, monitor lizards thrived in Greenland, Antarctica had forests, yet the equator wasn't much hotter than today. Climate models can't even reproduce it, but the entire Earth was pretty much Hawaii.
Also, recent research shows that the warming has been half of what NOAA claimed due to poor station citing, and we haven't had any statistically significant warming in 15 years, and the Sun is entering a Dalton or Maunder minimum which will last until about 2040.
These topics deserve debate, and denouncing anyone who disagrees with you as a hate group is not very productive.
Or how about...
Focus on the Family
The group supports the teaching of what it considers to be traditional family values. It advocates school sponsored prayer and supports corporal punishment. It strongly opposes LGBT rights, abortion, pornography, legalized gambling, and pre-marital and extramarital sexual activity.
...anything of those highlighted things about gays? Or is it just about sticking ignorant, biased noses into areas they don't belong in?
OMG! A church group that supports school sponsored prayer and opposes gambling and cheating! Will wonders never cease. I'm thinking they really don't sound quite like the Klan, Stormfront, or the Aryan Nation, but that must be my blindness and bigotry. They're a church group. They're going to be supporting just about all the same stuff that preachers preach about every Sunday.
Why not just demonize Catholics and be done with it?
