Chick-fil-A digging themselves a hole

Homosexuality is about a lot more than just the act of physical intimacy between two men or two women. It's their internal sexual identity. Homosexuals can theoretically go their entire lives without having gay sex, but they're still gay. It's in the fiber of their being.

I don't see a persons sexual tendencies being the "fiber of their being"

They [ed. guns] can be bought with a license. It is irrelevant, as a gun is a commodity whose possession is a matter of choice.

And they just wouldn't issue licenses in places like Washington DC, which caused another round of lawsuits and court cases. So how about this. We allow gay marriage, but to do so they have to get a marriage license that nobody in government will ever actually issue. That's the situation "licenses" put many gun owners in.

Discrimination against women, blacks, or homosexuals is discrimination based on what they are. That is not a matter of choice. Once again, the bigots showing their true colors. A desire to persecute others.
But Chik-Fil-A isn't discriminating. They hire gays, they serve gays. Gun owners aren't claiming that nobody should be allowed to donate to Sarah Brady, or that those who do shouldn't be allowed to open a business, or that any person who patronizes a restaurant whose owner donated to Sarah Brady is somehow an evil hater, or that supporting organizations that support calls for more gun control is of itself a violation of the 2nd Amendment.

The issue in this thread, CFA, the company contributes to organizations that discriminate against homosexuals, and its CEO, Mr Cathy, advocates and supports such organizations. That has been stated in this thread multiple times.

But you just admitted yourself that you have always been attracted to women. That doesn't go to the "fiber of your being"? Are you saying you have doubts about your sexual identity then?

Why should "choosing" to be gay result in less rights? Why should "choosing" to be straight be given special benefits?

THAT'S a million dollar question! Answer that.

Homosexuality is a choice.

No one forces you to have homosexual sex. Aside from instances of rape of course.

So, you are choosing to be heterosexual.

I've always been attracted to members of the opposite sex exclusively.

But actually deciding to seek out sexual relations with a woman was a choice I made.

Your bigotry is showing again. Homosexuality is part of who people are, just as gender and skin color is.

As far as sexual attraction, I've always been attracted to women. But I could've remained a virgin my entire life and not been upset or broken up about it.

Whether I ever had sex or not did not define me as a person.

But pretty much every single Muslim business owner in the US also contributes to organizations that discriminate strongly against homosexuals. The US gives tons of foreign aid to Middle Eastern and African countries that strongly discriminate against homosexuals. Almost every Democrat and Republican has spent decades donating to their parties back when neither party would support gay marriage, and both parties were actively campaigning against the very idea.

No, it's not a choice. You have no proof it's a choice, it's not even in the Bible as a choice. Just because you don't understand basic biology doesn't give you the right to discriminate against someone for merely existing.

The wrongs of others do not make CFA's actions less odious or more acceptable.

Let's suppose for a moment a business owner puts up a sign in his front window that reads, "Help Wanted. Irish Need Not Apply".

That would be alright in your book?

Yes.

And that is the last time I'm answering this question or a similar one so don't bother asking.

So you really don't have a problem with what people choose to do, no matter how "immoral" it may be. And you don't think the government should be able to restrict people from doing things they believe in. BUT, you want the government to keep restrictions on gays because that's what YOU believe in?

And as far as sexual attraction, gay men have always been attracted to other men. But they're supposed to be discriminated against and thought of as lesser human beings to a degree because they have the same programming you do, only directed towards the same gender rather than the opposite?

Tell me how that makes any logical sense. Leave ethics out of it for a moment or so. Just tell me how being bigoted against someone for what amounts to the exact same desires(just directed towards the same gender) is logical and sensible? How is it supposed to be an intellectually acceptable hypocrisy?

What part of any of that allows you, a heterosexual man, the right to impede another whose beliefs and actions are not the same as yours from living their life the way they choose as you have?

That's still not true.

Gays are barred their corporate retreats.

Care to try again?

I don't see a persons sexual tendencies being the "fiber of their being"

Your wife and kids aren't part of your core identity?

I could've remained a virgin my entire life and not been upset or broken up about it.

I'm sure your wife would love to hear you say that.

Point. Set. Match.

But what is their "odious" action? They haven't done anything that the Clinton's haven't done. They advocate for the same stance Barack Obama had when he was elected. They don't discriminate against gays. They have gay employees, gay managers, gay franchise owners, and they serve gays. Until recently, even the US military wouldn't allow gays.

If donating to an organization that discriminates in any way against gays is so evil, why don't we close down all the Mexican restaurants, or boycott them, because just about every owner donates to the Catholic Church?

I've always been attracted to members of the opposite sex exclusively.

So, you didn't choose to be straight instead of gay at one point in your life? If you never considered being gay, then you technically didn't make a choice, you went with what came naturally.

But actually deciding to seek out sexual relations with a woman was a choice I made.
And that would be after you chose not to follow your homosexual tendencies, correct?

You approve of CFA's advocating discrimination against homosexuals.
