Studio Scale K'tinga

If I didn't know better would say these were shots of the studio build. Awesome work!

Thanks everyone.

I'm working on the neck now.

First make cross sections out of plexiglass.

Then fill them in and sculpt them to shape, in this case a combo of 15lb rigid foam and bondo.

Then vac form styrene over them so I have something to detail. I did this twice because of the layered details.

After that I can cut the parts out and start detailing them.

Psion, thanks for spotting that, sometimes I don't see mistakes until I take pics of it, LOL.

Drat. That means you're back to inhumanly perfect.

Honestly, I admire not just the workmanship, but the mindset that you exhibit. From what little I recall glimpsing from your videos, your work area is very tidy, too.

Thanks. But I cleaned up that space before I did the video, LOL. Usually I can't find anything in that mess.

Now, in some of the blueprints--if not ST:TMP itself--we see tiny little disruptor turrets. Are you going to do a few as add on options?

The turrets parts are from the 1/76 Panzer Kampfwagen I, Russian T-34, and the 1/350 Tamiya USS Enterprise.

Anyone seen my jaw around here? It seems to have fallen off.

Amazing work there, REL! I love the attention to detail you have. And it's all those tiny details that really give it a sense of scale.

What do you do with these enormous models? Are they commissioned works for a client who takes possession when they're done? Do you just have a room full of giant awesome model starships? Are you planning a museum?

(I ask that last one tongue-in-cheek, but, seriously, you should work for a museum...)

P.S. I find that every time I look at this thread, I notice I'm whistling the Klingon Theme from the TMP score by the time I close it.

Good work!

I hum it, but ... yeah!

And Rel -- are you gonna drink that Dr. Pepper?

Thanks everyone.

Albertese, I'm not quite finished ID'ing them yet.

A small update.
