Why did the aliens shoot all the prisoners after letting them go and only spare Tom? Why did the aliens drop him off in Maryland and make him walk home? My current theory is that the tall aliens are teenagers and they're just screwing with the planet for kicks until they have to go back to school.

The only logical explanation is that the alien he met with is based in Michigan not MA. Since interstellar travel isn't a problem for them a few hundred miles is a cake walk. Why did the aliens drop him off in Maryland and make him walk home?

Actually I would like that as an explanation. At least it's somewhat original.
And then of course, there was Trelane and Charlie X from ST:TOS (and Q's Kid in Voyager)

Not really, didn’t “Explorers” have that a bit? Well, not as bad guys, but kid-aliens just the same.
I was lucky, Falling Skies came up on Monday for me, but, as of yesterday, I'm still waiting for Legend of Korra from last week (On Demand is 1 week and a couple days behind live episodes) and several times, I've waited until Wednesday for Once Upon a Time. It seems the HD versions are more reliable to come up the following day, I must get my boxes upgraded. While I'm enjoying all the exposition on the new season, I'm growing increasingly frustrated that the show hasn't popped up on On Demand yet.. I've got to get better at setting the DVR... Same issue with the new True Blood... What's the point of having On Demand if they won't post new episodes a day after they run?

you should be able to watch it on fallingskies.com
Now you're just rubbing it in.Now that I think about it, there even was a DuckTales episode with that premise...![]()
It seems to me that's exactly what he'd call them. There was one major faux pas in characterization, which is that a history professor in the US wouldn't call the proposed areas for humans to live "reservations."
That's a really good idea. It may be foreshadowing dissension among the invaders. As for the reason Tom survived the massacre, I'm quite sure that it was supposed to be against the Overlords' orders, that that one Skitter deliberately let Tom go because that Skitter was so pleased by Tom's tasering the Overlord. "Crikey, that one's got spunk!" (The translation is gratis.)
