Let's hope star doesn't have a problem with the fact that I put the theme entries next to the episode entries instead of below....
Um, why would I have a problem with that?
I only asked about the length of time on the poll because I've been away for a bit, and as HR says, the time has always been roughly 3 days in the past--for years. (I've been around off and on for 8 years.)
I apologize if I came off offensive. I was simply wondering if there had been a change to the contest MO. That was all.
By the way, nice to make your acquaintance, too.
To be honest, the way you formulated your inquiry about the duration of the poll did make me feel like an ignorant newbie.
If you had asked me why I had decided to run the contest until Saturday, I would have explained that I hadn't expected to have the time to write an elaborate ‘Cheers to the Winners’ post sooner.
Writing more than two sentences in English usually takes me quite some time as it is not my first language. Also, I had plans to make a new ‘Cheers to the winners’ picture.
Maybe I take this organizing task a bit too serious...

The usual time for polls in the ENT contests is about three days or so, usually because by then pretty much everyone who would have voted will have done so. But I'm cool with waiting a couple extra days if you have something planned, Miss Lemon.

If I may cut in, three days seems like a bit of a short time span to me. I think 5 days is better suited to give everyone a chance to vote. I know I sometimes either forget or simply can't get around to voting in our lovely avatar contests for days, so widening that 3-day window can actually prove helpful.

But seriously, I apologize if my previous post seemed blunt or worse. My people are known for their direct communication. I did however try to follow the Holy Rules of Feedback when I explained how star's behaviour made me feel.

The SF&F av contest seems to go lickety split (I've missed a lot of entry and voting threads, ha) while the VOY contest seems quite leisurely. Same with format and pictures used for awards, and all that. (That's why I asked about lengths for the contest threads over in VOY a few days ago, because I've never run one of those.)
I am loving the addition of new entrants in our little contest here, and there's always room for more winner pictures! I think we're putting together a great collection.
Miss Lemon, you are the wielder of the Awesome and Terrible Avatar Contest Runner's Sceptre this round, so aside from the dimensions of the entries, which we like to conform to board rules so folks can wear their pretties here, you are the final arbiter of the whole shebang.

If you knew me (which obviously you wouldn't), you'd know that I'm definitely not a rude person by nature. I'm laid-back and fun-loving. (And laugh--a lot.) I guess that's why I didn't think twice about my question.

I suppose it's hard for me to imagine myself as a "kiddo" when I have a teenage daughter.
