One-year countdown thread!

I wouldn't mind too much if the Enterprise engineering was refit to look like LLNL rather than a Bud brewery.

I tend to agree but while there are pipes for Africa, it does seem a little light in the tank department. ;)

I suspect the engine room will be a set this time around (apparently the sets are multilevel and interconnected this time, allowing a seamless walkthru shot between the bridge, the turbolift, the "plaza" and the sickbay), and there'll be zero explanation given as to why it looks different!

No explanation was given for the changes in engineering in TOS, or between TMP and TWOK. Granted, going from Budweiser to Livermore is a bit more drastic than that, but it would fit the look of the ship better overall.

I suspect it could be the engine room of another Federation ship (perhaps Peter Weller's ship? With Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch as his senior staff?). The USS Kelvin engine room scenes were filmed in a disused power plant on Long Island.

11 months to go and we still know nothing about this movie....Thanks JJ Abrams (sarcasm)
We know quite a bit....

A red forrest planet
Spock going down into a volcano wearing a goofy suit
More Starfleet ships
Many new uniform types (including a blatant Stargate Atlantis ripoff)
Improved engineering section on the Enterprise
Interconnected sets (bridge/lift/plaza/sickbay) for the Enterprise
An Enterprise shuttlecraft much like the Kelvin ones
A space barge
Benadict Cumberbatch fighting Spock
Peter Weller is a captain or CEO with a ship
Alice Eve is a character "new to canon" (but not to non-canon stuff like novels or comics?)
A reference to events of the new Gorn-centric video game
Return of Admiral Pike
Return of Redshirt "Cupcake" Hendorf
Possible cameo by Leonard Nimoy as Spock Prime
Filming location shots at a posh mansion and in icy greenland

...and that's just OTOH (and probably with a few minor incorrect details!)

I spent last night in hospital getting crazy high blood pressure lowered. I'm fine now and will be fine (it was an inflammation of the walls surrounding my heart and dehydration) But I was laying in the hospital bed, wired up to a drip and beeping machines.... and among all the other stuff tumbling through my head, it occurs to me how much it'd suck that I might not get the chance to see Star Trek XII. I think my priorities need rearranging!

Glad you're ok. I am 48 and not old at all but I did have a recent thought that I want to make sure I am taking care of myself so I can be around to see all the movies I am looking forward to!

Some scary stuff for sure, I've been battling high blood pressure for a while now and had a scare with my heart a few months ago. Glad to hear everything is in order. :techman:

Feel better soon, KingDaniel!

Any word of a possible teaser trailer around the time of ComiCon?

No, that sounds about right.

Every time I watch TWOK, I think, "Life without a remake of Khan is not worth living."
