So there's more than one, but they're all in Huxley's possession? Is there anyone else qualified to play one?

The Wikipedia entry addresses that a bit.
Okay, so it's not exactly in common use, but it's not one-of-a-kind either. I remember recognizing the Blaster Beam sound the last time I listened to the 2010 soundtrack. And I remember that distinctive "seismic charge" sound in Attack of the Clones, which sounded so cool that I was willing to overlook the fact that a sonic or seismic weapon wouldn't work in space.

Not me. The links from Google wouldn't work for some reason, but the link from TrekMovie's article on the release worked just fine (or maybe it was the same link and it was just down for a couple of minutes). Anyway, I've placed my order.
I was yeah, but I was somehow able to get through when I refreshed the page a few times.
A few problems with the site but managed to get mine. 
Got mine, took a lot of refreshing though. Perhaps they shouldn't have given a specific time when they would be starting the sale of this set. Seems like a lot of Trekkies were hovering on the site waiting for 4pm eastern today to make sure they pounced and got theirs.

Except that's exactly what I did, and it worked.

Same here... I've been waiting for this for well on 21 years now, since I started collecting the scores around 91 or so, after I got a copy of Star Trek the Astral Symphony as a graduation present.
