Young Justice-Tonight!

Good new episode. I'm really liking the bigger cast they have this year and that they can choose the best suited for the mission from it. But similary to the comics, I found Blue Beetle to be more fun, when we couldn't understand what the scarab was saying.

Ha! totally called it! The metagene! Still hard to tell if that's the Dominators or the Reach.

So, this is "slow" Wally in this universe. Interesting.

By the way, I only just realized the in-joke in casting CSI's George Eads as the voice of police crime-lab scientist Barry Allen.

I just want to say that it's freaking hard for me not to read this and the Korra thread and spoil myself before I get home from work on Saturdays! :scream:

:p

I can't wait to watch this morning's episode. :)

This one was predictable. The villain's armor seemed Anti-Monitor shaped, too.

CAN WE DO A STORY ABOUT THE FLASH THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE HIS "DEATH"?

Today's episode was toying with the idea of Manfred Mota in the Flash 50th Anniversary Special; but it never went there. The future Flash there was of course John Fox instead of Impulse.

My revelation for today was something I'm sure every other viewer had already picked up on long ago. This season of Young Justice is sub-titled "Invasion"; and today's introduction of the meta gene confirms that this season is an adaptation of the comic mini with the same themes - the 3 issue "Invasion". They literally told us what they were doing from day one.

Another fun episode, nice to have a closeup on the Flash family, especially Barry. Nice bit of playing with some fans expectations regarding what would happen to Barry, IMO. Bart's a fun new addition and I enjoyed his tendency for "spoilers."

I kinda grinned like an idiot seeing Jay in his costume as a JSA fan. Though... 70th anniversary? Jay and Joan don't look 90, so I guess there's some sort of "slow aging" in play for both of them in the background.

I have to say, at this point, I'm enjoying Young Justice more than the DCnu. Its being more respectful of DC's history than the comics. It was really great seeing the Flash family at work (especially given that Wally is no longer in the comics and Jay has been pushed back on to Earth 2).

Huh? The villain was Neutron, an established DC supervillain who does wear a containment suit like the one shown here.

I couldn't find any pictures of Neutron's comic book appearances that resembled his Young Justice look.
I think Young Justice's Neutron's appearance was meant to be a nod or slight homage to the Anti-Monitor.

YJ is playing as fast and lose with past continuity as the New52. The first season line up was a mix of several Teen Titans line up and they played with the ages and relationships.

Being a guy who was reading before COIE, the idea a Jay Garrick living on another Earth doesn't phase me.

Well, maybe in the shape of the helmet, a bit. But otherwise it just looks like a variation on the concept of the containment suits he's wearing in the images on his Wikipedia entry.
