"Because you needed each other" The Kirk Spock ALL GUSHING Love Thread

Re: "Because you needed each other" The Kirk Spock ALL GUSHING Love Th

That is fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen it but I am going to do so now. I have read the book several times and not been one to watch Austen on film the books being really too perfect. But that looks amazing.

It's a television series, and it's brilliantly done. Sally Hawkins is perfect.

Well, as perfect as she can be, without being the character in my imagination...
Overall, the BBC series are much better in capturing the true Austen spirit than the movies. I especially adore the latest version of Sense and Sensibility. Much better than the movie.

Anne Elliot is not my favourite Austen heroine by far, but I do adore Sally Hawkins. They made her quite ugly in Persuasion. In this other period drama she looks much nicer (NSFW):

Are you of the Colin Firth persuasion as well?
I have a thing for the introvert British gentleman type, yes. For me, Colin Firth = Mr. Darcy. Although the 1980's BBC version was probably more true to the book.

Hence, Reed :)

So, Sherlock?

I must be the only woman in fandom land who finds Cumberbatch repulsive to look at. I do love Freeman though, I think I like a bit of bumbling in my introverts.

Though John Simm is rather attractive as well.

MOAR PINE!

Judging by the pictures I have seen of Cumberbatch, I really don't understand the hype. Maybe that will change when I hear him talk though. I can actually fall in love with a voice.

I'm not a Sherlock fan at all. But it's the genre itself that bores me. If it was set on a space station I would find it a lot more interesting.

Eek am I too late for the love o' British dudes in Regency England fiction pieces?

If not, I present Toby Stephens in Jane Eyre -

Brooding. Very British. The gal who played Jane was fantastic (and now I'm blanking on her name).

Land o' Women? We have chocolate. In our veins.....

^ I have the DVD, but I still haven't had the time to watch it. It looks promising though.

Do you watch anything else besides SciFi? ;)

Well I did see the recent Jane Eyre movie in the cinema.. though I'll admit that was because I went with a friend who wanted to see it.

I like a good super heroes movie. I do watch non-genre stuff from time to time, especially since mr. teacake does not have any interest in sci fi. But in general I've narrowed what I spend my time over the years. I'm very forgiving of sci fi and not so of other things.

It sounds like you are as much a sucker for voices as I am Miss L!...if that is the case, a mild infatuation with Benedict Cumberbatch may be in you future!...(and, really, how can you not root for the guy when his parents decided to saddle him with a name like that?? ;) )

Cheers!

I am, Shanndee! Maybe I'll give Sherlock a try after all...

It's weekend, yay!

Re: "Because you needed each other" The Kirk Spock ALL GUSHING Love Th

Several of the series forums have threads devoted to adoration of particular characters. That's what this thread is. All things Kirk and Spock! And some Quinto and Pine on the side..

Because.. you know.. we love them.

I'm kicking this off with my favorite JJ K/S video. This forum has sorely needed a video thread because there is some great stuff out there of this crew :)

great vid!:techman:

And you probably will... judging by Cumberbatch's voice ;)

He has a unique look. Not handsome by conventional standards, but very striking. Definitely the "it" factor.

I've loved Colin for a long time. (and, no, not what it sounds like. though I wouldn't have minded it to be) :p

Not sure if this pic has been posted before in this forum, but it's the first time I've seen it:
