M'Sharak I was wondering, are you a Spock Gusher or are you more of a Kirkette?Thank you kindly.Oh sorry, I'll go fix that.![]()
This is one of the more consistently entertaining threads going, though. I enjoy the sense of fun, and there's a refreshing lack of dreary wrangling over what's canon, who's a "real Star Trek fan," whether a thing is consistent with Gene Roddenberry's Vision!™ or any of that sort of tedious balderdash.

Am I missing something? This is an interpretation by Judith Gran, who (not surprisingly) is a slash fiction writer.Yeah well, let's be clear about one thing: anyone who believes that Spock/Uhura is canon is NOT a real Star Trek fan!
We all know that the Truth about Spock's Love Life can be found in the Holy Footnote of Slash in Gene Roddenberry's novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.![]()
Irony.Am I missing something?

You forgot highlight the part where Kirk actually states that Spock is not his lover.

That scene is going to be on the Very Special Edition of the Extended Version of the Limited Edition Star Trek DVD, you just wait and see.And then he told him to FOLLOW HIS HEART which meant not leaving Starfleet. Because as he had already told him he needed a certain person in Starfleet and he needed him very badly.
