The 'significant other' appreciation thread

My partner and I are at the opposite end of the spectrum from several of ya'll, we're just getting started and I love him so much. Every day I feel so lucky to have him in my life, even if he's traveling for work for weeks at a time (Uncle Sam is quite the task master). We accept each other as is, and I truly feel he is the only person who completely understands me.

I never expected him to come into my life like this (a a second time; long story), but he's turned out to be the perfect man for me. We've stood by each other through several surgeries/hospital visits; me sleep-walking and sleep-eating or having mood swings (don't worry, I'm getting treated); him being ground down by work-travel;. We've stuck by each other and keep growing closer every day.

Well, actually I am still single, as we are not officially a couple yet, but that might change very soon. We had only two dates till now, because shortly after getting to know each other, I went of to New Zealand, while he is in Germany. His last words were "I will wait for you!" Now seven months have past... and we are still in contact and he sends me lovely messages, letters/ postcards, little presents and the other way around too of course. In a bit over 2 weeks we will see each other again, I will be back In Germany exactly on his birthday. :D I was a bit unsure, if he really would wait, after all, it was just a short time we had with each other before I left, but he is waiting indeed and I am looking SO much forward to see him again and than... well...we´ll see. ;)

I've been with my girlfriend for just over a year and a half, and I love her loads. She has a gorgeous 3-year-old daughter who im pretty much Dad to. We've been living together for 7 months and they both pretty much lived in my old place for about 3 months before that. Happy to report we've got a baby on the way.

In some aspects we're completely different such as she isn't a massive geek like me and can't stand my love of rock music. Other times we get on great as we both love films, comdey, food etc...

When it comes to Trek: she can't stand it. She has sat through a couple of episodes almost without comment. Im trying to convince her to watch the reboot movie, as that will be the most accessible to her.

Can honestly say i've never been happier.

I've been with my wife for twenty years now (married 19 in October) and she would kill me if she found out I put her picture up. We have three great kids (18, 14 and 4) and she is the greatest continuing presence in my life outside of Star Trek.

I'd be lost without her...

^ She's lovely. I'm the same about people posting my photos without me knowing, and so is my boyfriend... so hopefully he never sees this thread. Ahem.

Ohhhh...you guys are really tempting me to post a picture of my husband. I promised him I wouldn't...he would be most displeased! What to do, what to do...

My boyfriend, John, made me breakfast in bed this morning. He is so sweet. And he is going to be such a great dad! :)

Wow. Great pics everyone. It's nice to see so many happy people :)

Well, recently I started seeing this 18-year-old. Not much else to say about it at this point.

Please don't read this Robert Maxwell....lol!! I'm just kidding!!

My husband and I last summer on our 16th wedding anniversary. We've been through a lot together, and he's my best friend, even if he does drive me nuts sometimes. ;)
