The third season of Voyager kicks heavy duty ass

Reed?

Reed on his first mission (after being tapped from retirement) cocks it up so badly that "being caught" was part of his plan, and then after thinking he can be stoic forever and go to jail for ever for the greater good, he punks out and tells Archer all about Section 31 after an hour in a very clean cell.

My god, Valaris is laughing in her crib.

It took Hoshi how long to find out he liked Pineapple cake?

but section 31 he's verbally diarrhoeic about?

A spy is an invisible son of a bitch no one notices even after he's stolen the crown jewels, shagged your wife and put a shiv in one of your kidneys.

That's Mayweather.

YWF Nick is watching this series through for the first time. He has not yet reached your depths of jaded disgust. Be patient, I'm sure he'll be vomiting on something soon enough.

I've watched VOY four times through now, and I've never vomited once. In fact VOY was the first Star Trek series I saw when I was a young child, without it I don't think I would be a Trekkie and discover something even better: DS9! So VOY must have done some good!

Eh, that's nothing. I watched "These Are the Voyages" and didn't vomit. I watched "Come What May" and.... very nearly did. But I still didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Voyager and having accepted it for what it was (instead of only thinking about what it could have been) I've derived many hours of pleasure watching the show. In fact as much as I criticize Voyager, I'll defend it just as much because I do believe it still had a lot to offer even in its limited framework.

You haven't watched it?

Where is the fainting emoticon..

Really, you've already experienced the Kes-less hell that is seasons 4, 5, and 6. Why not suck it up and be a completist.

A good question which needs an honest answer.

To be honest, I was so p****d off with "Fury" that I decided that "enough is enough". Mind you, I actually did stop watching Voyager after "The Gift" and didn't watch it for nearly two seasons but for some reason I changed my mind and started watching it again in the end of season 5. Meanwhile I spent some money on borrowing the tapes with the episodes from season 4 and 5 which I'd missed to catch up with the ongoing story.

After "Fury", it was the scenario of "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" so I decided that enough is enough, not to mention that I became a relly nasty person when it came to debating this issue which was not so good for me.

I actually didn't plan to watch "Endgame" either. I decided to watch it one minute before the episode started on TV because I wanted to see the homecoming and afterwards it felt like I had made another big mistake. What a dissapointment! :ack:

However, time heals a broken heart as they say in many songs and that's not impossible that I will re-watch season 4, 5 and 6 again and also watch season 7. But since none of my channels are airing Voyager now, I'll have to wait or buy them on DVD.

But I will never, ever watch "The Gift" or "Fury" again!

As for the fainting emoticon, I guess that you have to settle with Eeky!

Thanks for your answer Lynx.

I was thinking about this last night and I wonder if you could not rewrite history in a way which would make the Kes-less seasons enjoyable for you. You come up with a story that shows us Kes leaving the ship in Season 3 in a way that is satisfying and inspiring and doesn't involve any Furys in the future. And that's what you decide happened allowing you to watch what those left behind (the VOY crew) do with their lives once Kes is gone. I know I don't believe Tucker is dead after seeing TATV, I've just rewritten it in my mind. Works for me.

In a way I already have.:)

The first story I wrote is actually about Kes returning to the ship somewhere between season 6 and 7 and the damage made to the character in "The Gift" and "Fury" are corrected, the character restored and the events in those episodes are explained in a more positive way. The second story I wrote explains why Kes isn't on the ship in season 7 and continues her story. The third is a follow-up to the second one and if I get time for more writing later on this year, I might come up with even more positive things.

Still it's hard just to think about watching those episodes. Something is missing. :weep:

I think this is one of the reasons "we" write fanfic, to correct things we don't agree with (C/7 for me) OR to cast it in another light (Kes in "Fury" for me). My first huge fanfic was a trilogy, 2/3'rds of which would probably please Lynx, ;) and 10 years later my next big fanfic was something that definately was just to rinse the idea of C/7 from the timeline!

C/7 does end up very short lived in the novels at least, exactly as I thought when I first saw it on the screen. Positive and short lived.

The Novels are a quaint curiosity, but they don't count.

Happily ever after only happens when a story is prematurely concluded.

C7 as far as we can tell will last for a million billion years.

Berman didn't watch the show he was making.

Par for the course.

Pairings I would have preferred to see before Chakotay and Janeway.

Janeway and Chell.

Chakotay and Lady Q.

Janeway and Annorax.

Chakotay and the Borg Queen.

Janeway and Tal Celes.

Chakotay and Dala (fake janeway from live fast and prosper.)

Janeway and Owen Paris

Chakotay and Marla Gilmore

Janeway and Hirogen Alpha from Killing Game.

Chakotay and Kullah.

So, I'm an unacceptable genius?

I view Owen and Kathryn as a reconnection since she served as his science officer for many years, and really, she had to learn this '"Can't screw the crew or every thing goes to hell" form some instance where the Captain screwed the crew and everything went to hell.

I see Kullah and Chakotay working out two ways... The first is when Kullah thought that Chuckles had raped his missus, and fairs fair, the alien warlord took it upon himself to teach Chakotay that rape is wrong by example. Or 2... After Seska died, they both kinda needed a bit of cheering up?

Since Chakotay thought the child was his initially he already had the hormones of bonding beaming at the child and he can be the mommy in that relationship. The patient, wise, spiritual mommy. Kullah can go out and kill stuff and bring it home for his family to eat.
