An all-new novel that continues the epic saga of the starship Voyager!

As the Voyager fleet continues it's exploration of the Delta Quadrant, investigating the current status of sectors formerly controlled by the Borg becomes the fleet's priority. Two of the fleet's special mission vessels. Galen and Demter are left at new hawking, and Curie move out to do a systematic search for any remnants of the Borg or Caeliar. As the mission begins Fleet Commander Afsarah Eden, who has shared what little she knows of her mysterious past with Captain Chakotay, begins to experience several more "awakenings" as she encounters artifacts, people, and places that make her feel connected to her long lost home. She is reluctant to allow these to overshadow her mission, but this becomes increasingly difficult as time passes....

this is ready for preorder on august 28, 2012. so far there is no cover.

I found this while digging around on my nook color.

Looking forward to this one, loved the rest of the Voyager re-relaunch so far. Slightly confused by some of the description with Galen & Demeter left @ new hawking. I know there is a ship in their fleet called Hawking but don't remember New Hawking.

Clearly that's meant to say "Hawking and Curie move out to do a systematic search," and there must be some words missing before Hawking.

That's what I thought but wasn't sure. I read it a few times & was beginning to think the chemicals here @ work were beginning to work against me.

I'm hoping the cover gives us a nice shot of the entire fleet instead of just Voyager.

I'd love that, but looks like no luck this time; a whole other sort of exciting though!

So, why is no one talking about what is implied by that cover? One would think it would generate a whole heap of conversation!

I for one am looking forward to seeing how this return is handled, but I have every confidence that Kirsten will do it in a proper and fitting way.

I have faith that Kisten will do a great job with "the return", if indeed it is that cut-and-dry. It is Star Trek after all.

However, I hope this was a choice of Kirsten's and not pressure from those above or the whackjobs.

"During this critical mission, one of Starfleet’s own – a respected and acclaimed officer – returns..."

    Janeway on the cover?

I predict All-Out Fan War... :ack:

IIRC, it's been said that the description given so far is essentially a cut-down part of the pitch for the novel, and isn't reflective of any eventual cover blurb.

I sorta hope it's NOT the return, even though she would be a great choice to handle it. I'd like the death to stick.

(Plus it'd piss off the 'bring back Janeway' camp.)

I hope it's her return and makes up for before dishonor.

Obviously I did not advertise my petition nearly enough.

    Pity.

God, wouldn't it be great if "the return" was James T Kirk?? :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

    ...no, but really...!

I, too, am looking forward to this book coming out in August.

As for Janeway making a return thing, well, I'm probably in the minority when I say this, but she's gone...let her rest.

I'm torn on the whole, Janeway's return thing. On one hand I'm disapointed to see them undoing one of the most dramatic events in TrekLit, but at the same time I think this has the potential to bring about a great story.
