Mass Effect books and comics...

When can we expect the movie?
If it was going to happen, it would have been right around now. In time for ME3, when interest in the franchise is at it's peak. It's all downhill for Mass Effect from here (well, from March 6th). If the movie isn't happening now, I'd be willing to bet that it's not happening.
As of July 2011's SDCC, Legendary Pictures and BioWare confirmed the film is still in the works. Casey Hudson and screenwriter Mark Petrosevich were both on Legendary's preview panel.

I also don't see why you'd think "it's all downhill from here" for the franchise. Shepard's story may be over after March 6th, but there's no way BioWare won't develop new games in the universe - and of course they will sell well.

I can't remember the studio, but I read a couple months ago that they are doing an anime movie.

T.O Entertainment is the animation studio, and it's being co-produced with FUNimation Entertainment; this is the same production duo that worked on Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker. Both anime films are expected this summer. The DA one comes out May 29th, but I haven't seen a release date (or a title, come to think of it...) for the ME one.

And lets not forget we got a Doom movie like a decade after Doom was still relevant....

The anime film Paragon Lost is expected to release this fall (rather than this summer, as I said in a previous post) and will focus on ME3 squad member James Vega prior to the events of the third game. An interview with BioWare Social Media Manager Justin Rojas regarding the film can be seen here.

No, no, lamest character in the game surely has to be awarded to Diana Allers. Vega at least has a somewhat interesting backstory (covered, of course, in this movie), and I generally found him amusing - especially when he was reminiscing with Garrus on one of my walks around the Normandy. Allers, on the other hand, was a complete waste of space that I only allowed on my ship for War Assets.

A Wrex appearance wouldn't make much sense. The movie will be chronicling a mission Vega was involved in dealing with the Collectors, at the same time Wrex would have been fighting to unite the clans on Tuchanka.

I find it highly unlikely that the human colony Fehl was in or near the Krogan DMZ. It was more likely located in the Terminus Systems, based on that being a popular location for other human colonies, based on the Collectors' tendency to rarely wander outside their own space (the Omega 4 Relay was located in the Terminus Systems), and based on the fact that in ME2 the only human colonies attacked by Collectors were in the Terminus Systems.

^No there isn't.

I have to say, to my utter shock and dismay, I didn't hate Vega. Not even a little. After Kaiden and Jacob, they've finally cracked the proverbial nut that is the male human squadmate. Third times the charm I guess.

I haven't minded him so far, and am looking forward to seeing his backstory play in the movie. Have they said anything about whether or not Freddie Prinze Jr. will be back to do his voice?
